echologist and vohkinne go head to head in the latest release for atrophic society. utilising a library of field recordings the two captured in their respective back yards. they ve crafted a sonic pallet using only those sounds, which serves to give a tangible cohesion across the ep as well as provide something a little different from the norm. each track captures a unique set of machine sounds and turns them into brooding, heady, atmospheric techno. a thousand cuts and scythe serve as heavy hitters, whereas nature control and broad swathe to the far side bring a dark mood seething with anticipation.

birgan is an recording artist from rome /italy. there is not much known about him. his original >essia< is an analog production with bits of symphonic sounding sounds interaction with the much louder spheric bubbles of sound. the remix comes from the echologist aka brendon moeller known fro his releases worldwide. he leaves his traces of acid in a remix that builds up the tension while he plays. using repetition and constant changes on another level he manages to keep the remix soulful.

after the great success of der himmel uber berlin, the second release on envlp imprint is signed by another south italys talent: drum communicate is a project of drummer and composer francesco varchetta. the ep take the name from the first track, the fast line, which show all his talents as a musician, producing an ambient track with detroits influences. tuner is the second track, which has a marked groove and much more dancefloor, also remixed by brendon moeller in two versions, goes to conclude a release for true connoisseurs of the genre.

craig mcwhinney is a melbourne based dj, producer and live artist. beginning his techno explorations behind the decks in 2000, his transition to the studio has been swift and fruitful. a string of releases on his own label haul music which he co-founded in 2008 with friends mike callander and christian vance, are now being backed up with remixes and eps for speedy js electric deluxe, and brendon moellers steadfast records. drawing upon his wealth of djing experience, he crosses the boundaries of dub infused techno and house with precision and intent, blurring the line between dance floor dynamics, home listening, experimentation and sound design. he is also collaborating with mike callander as haul music live, fusing craigs rhythms with mikes soundscapes to create unique dance floor interpretations of their individual sound experimentations. wild coast is a low-slung filthy minimal romp that possesses as much primal energy as it does futuristic funk. bassbins and heads are likely to be blown by this demented puppy. echologist keeps things lofi, hypnotic and subby.
