the sound of the autumn is a really minimalistic techno sound from paul sim. his sound is real berlin sound. he is one of the first artists of delude records. his experimental and minimal techno is just faboulas. so here comes the new and first vinyl release drake with 3 big driving minimal techno tracks.
matthew styles remixes one of fofs biggest releases of 2010. never straying far from the source material, matthew wraps things up in his usual tight production style, employing a live bass sound and elements of the original melody to give things a tripppier edge than the originals straight up dance floor leanings.
on the flip and walking that fine line between house and techno, blm turns in a very fine and contemporary remix of drake and griifiths >the devils eyes<. dystopian in its outlook, the remix drives along with a simple but full bassline with plenty of dancefloor power.
over the past decade jazzman has acquired an unparalleled reputation for reissuing the highest quality rare and obscure jazz, funk and soul on lp and 45. but every now and then we like to dip our ears into something totally else, for instance we have done egyptian reggae, pakistani funk, even indian christmas songs. now the urge to go off on one has come again, so here we are with some american country & western music, exotica steel guitar style.
whats my name, the latest single from the bajan songstress rihanna, is not a cover of the clashs 1977 punk classic, but finds riri taking a detour from the dancefloor-scorching grooves of only girl to craft a steamier cut which draws its heat from her short-lived, but much-buzzed-about relationship with the t-dot heavyweight. here, the upbeat synth boardwork of stargate sets the stage for a heaping helping of innuendo from both collaborators, drizzy handles verse one, sing-rapping his way through a double-entendre-peppered opener (the square root of 69 is (eight/ate) something right? cause i been tryin to work it out.), and rihanna responds in kind, lacing her verses and chorus with some playful come-ons of her own. digging this catchy ode to young love/lust? then be sure to grab a copy of this vinyl and the heavy remixes it has.
fof kick off 2011 with a nod to the past in the form of justin drake (peace division) and kevin griffiths- (tsuba) -the devil-s eyes-, a deliciously grimy jackin- groove, coming on like a low slung mid 90s house production a la schatrax. we enlisted the talents of christopher rau for the first remix. as many of you know christopher has had an impressive 2010 culminating in his critically acclaimed lp -asper clouds- for the always excellent smallville label. chris cleverly uses elements of the original, intertwined them into an altogether quirkier, more optimistic deep house groove with a definite injection of -fun-: to round off the package, new talent bleak takes the reigns, providing a peak time techno stomper. bleak-s debut single will be released on hamburg imprint -sudden drop- sometime in early 2011 and promises to mark bleak out as a name to look out for.
8 bit continues their quality release schedule with a interesting 12 inch from tsuba owner kevin griffiths and peace divisions justin drake. the 2 producers deliver a cool 3 track 12 with the fantastic alternate version from >nightmoves< on a1, and >bom bom< and the track two on side b

four modern, textural, slow-burning instrumental hip hop soundscapes set a distinct mood on this new ep by the venerable chris deluca. heavy-hitting basslines and slightly ominous hat patterns dominate, leaving these cuts verging on the territory of dark, minimal electro destruction... with a subtle dose of that funky boom bap. perfectly applicable to both basement dancefloor experiments and gangster dealings alike. one half of berlin s funkstörung, alongside partner michael fakesch, de luca is more than well-versed in the genre, having done a few remixes for high-profile hip hop and experimental acts such as wu tang clan and bjork. they ve released an uncountable amount of records on labels !k7, compost records, music aus strom and acid planet, to name but a few. this is his first release for detroit underground. includes two fire remixes, one by fellow du resident producer valance drakes, and the second by none other than chris deluca s son, lenny deluca.
moka only has released an instrumental version of his latest lp, concert for one, via urbnet. concert for one instrumentals was released digitally on july 6th 2018 and as a limited edition vinyl on august 17th 2018. the self-produced record is packed with stand-alone characteristic beats, proving that the beats themselves have just as much story as the vocals.
in this stage of my life there is much more reflection and contemplation, and i really feel that i was very open and unguarded on this album. as much as i love all the completed songs with the vocals, the beats on here hold enough detail to speak on their own.
