the collaboration between the italian label and the two techno producers, follows a meeting in nyc between out-er co-founder simone gatto at the producers headquarter gatto always appreciated the artists musical peculiarity and, generally, supports distorted electronic sounds, which anyway already found space on the label’s previous releases thanks to the efforts of the analogue cops, christopher rau and marieu.

special backorders - both dj spider & brendon moeller have been sculpting their craft over the years and show no signs of ever slowing down. each artist presents an original track and then a remix from each other. this split vinyl ep is the first of several to be released on spiders sublevel sounds label.

storming into our fifth release from the dirty shores of new jersey, green village is proud to present village elders 001, a compilation ep featuring new material from artists who have already flown the flag for gv. the a-side is held down by the plan b duo of dj spider and dakini9, purveyors of the metro area s dirtiest and deepest house sounds. spider gets toxic a second time,following his 2013 instruction drop with toxic trace 2, a thickly layered deep house cut whose seedy percussion underbelly contrasts vividly with the more traditional deep house pads that accompany it. dakini9 s lost paradise is dark and mysterious like its title, the hats, trumpets, and vocals emerging in tangled webs of dub effects, a strong follow-up to her dope ep for the label. disaroen, a duo from toronto, half of which previously appeared on gv, turns in the most barren of the four tracks, serious doorman, heads-down techno that crackles to life halfway in and an auspicious debut for a promising new group. last is nj heavyweight nicuri, a rising star whose ripples of time closes the ep in his signature searching, melodic style.

dj spider & franklin de costa come along with a massive follow-up of their first single on killekill (cat number 016). second bass on the a-side is a bomb of a track with its jazzy beats, otherworldly strings and a bassline straight out of hell. comsume is even more otherworldly with its stumbling, shuffling beat and a spaced-out vocal sample taken from an unnamed sci-fi movies from the 50s. coffee break, the last track of the ep, is a deadlock groove of heavy beats and freaky breaks, that leaves you lost in time and space.

this various artist vinyl compilation features tracks from dj spider, dakini9, hakim murphy and phil moffa. this combines all of the elements that plan b is famous for: deep, dark, dance floor alchemy. originally released on cd, these tracks are now available on vinyl.

new yorker electronic producer dj spider is back on itay’s out-er with a muggy, abstract techno release “human erosion field ep”, similarly to its debut “v ep”, released in september 2017 and produced in featuring with his longtime friend phil moffa.
italian label out-er presents its twenty-sixth release continuing to explore the diverse musical path between house, techno and experimental electronic - which appears in most cases on out-er’s sub-label pregnant void. “human erosion field ep” otherworldly showcases both a radiant take on electronic as well as gloomy and wild-eyed pieces, an aesthetic approach for which dj spider has been most known in the scene. overlooking to the style of the tracks, the release does contain a sinister mood and a dense, solid sense of groove overall, a typical recurring feature of the producer’s previous outputs.

new york’s dj spider returns to rekids with four murky vinyl-only cuts this november. a highly respected label owner, dj spider is well known for helming esteemed imprints like plan b, sub level sounds and btu music. as a producer he has made appearances on the likes of the trilogy tapes, bleed, killekill and vanguard sound!, whilst last year saw him make his debut on rekids. returning to the imprint, the american artist follows dj deep, jon hester and fbk for the fourth outing in the rekids special projects vinyl series. opening with ‘mobius strip revisited’, a squelching bass line and rolling percussive loops underpin ethereal pads and airy atmospheres before an extended keyboard solo plays over inspired chord progressions and a grooved low-end to give ‘antikythera mechanism part 2’ an improvised feel. on the flip we have ‘sub-atomic vibrations’, providing a series of irresistible lead synth melodies and crunchy drum compositions followed by ‘struggles with phantoms’, an unrelenting rhythm section lays the foundation for an evolving mid-range giving the release a stylish close

london label spinning plates steps up for round three with the lesser known talents of nekhsa throwing down some crucial electro styles.132 breaks is an utterly minimalist slice of drum machine funk, and completely infectious with it, while some jan works a cheeky bassline rub into the sparse soundscape. back in 4 and bidniz are both just as reduced in their construction, but then its up to dj spider to weigh in with a pair of remixes that find the new york producer on savage form. his version of bidniz is a dense, cloying workout loaded with sinister sound design, while some jan turns into an apocalyptic techno destroyer in his capable hands.
