silvana noris, italian-german singer, is an artist who has embraced theater, sport (she has been awarded on various occasions in various martial arts disciplines), writing and singing. the cult song -din don- published under the pseudonym of evo in 1983 for the italian label -cultura & musica-. with silvana s voice in a very deep and dark intonation, accompanied by synthesizer chords creating a sort of melancholic cosmic-disco, defining an underground hit that has been only recently rediscovered by dj-harvey and played into his exclusive -sarcastic-disco- sessions. today best record italy presents it again in a limited edition remastered from the original master tapes at the highest level of quality possible!

ion din dorobanti is one of the many monikers of the ubiquitous producer ion dumitrescu from bucharest. his 7” single on pingipung shows the oriental influences on bass music in his hometown. this release carries the manele, romanias wedding music which dominates contemporary pop styles since 30 years, towards new sonic realms. on the two tracks, he drag psychedelia and analog electro into the manele-sphere. the first one presents a radical afro-electro rework of alex pus&#806,,,,tiu’s “mi-e pofta&#774,,,, de tine ra&#774,,,,u”. ion din dorobant&#806,,,,i’s original production on the other side is a track pulsating on a 9/8 groove infested with synth nostalgia. all is spiced up by nicu chinezu’s on clarinet. ion dumitrescu is the co-initiator of the future nuggets label and its sub-label p-balans. they are both based in bucharest and run in heavy rotation at the pingipung office and in our dj sets. if he is not ion din dorobant&#806,,,,i he appears as australopitecus oltensis or utopus as a producer. among his productions are the brilliant debut lp by steaua de mare, the first lp of the legendary band rodion g.a together with strut records (london), the raze de soare ep and both volumes of -sounds of the unheard from romania-. these two summer anthems are part of the ongoing series of 7”-releases on pingipung. other singles recently came from ya tosiba, sven kacirek, andi otto or f.s. blummbastic.

james din a4 is the master of a stumbling, stubborn mpc techno style >made for dancefloors which have not been invented yet< - as a reviewer of his pingipung album in 2009 wrote. these two tracks mark the end of the series, and they do it with a playfulness and in the best of humours. for djs who like to break the rules.

i just woke and its pretty cold outside. i havent opened the window yet, but i somehow know it and im listening to these six tracks again and try to make an approximation of why and how i have done this ep. they are pretty different from each other but tell the same story or at least are part of the same one as a matter of fact. maybe they were done as an excuse for my overdue album which is scheduled again for this year or maybe just because i was going through some odd times and needed to immerse myself in doing something. in this case music. more the latter i guess. ok so, the opening track is in a way the end of an era and the last one the opening of a fresher one. and the rest fills in the gaps in between those two moments i guess. i hate conceptual things anyways. i never know or want to know why i do certain things. concepts define something before it already begins its existence and trying to explain why is pretty useless. so here it is. the recording of a certain period of time in my tiny existence. with collaborations with jaw (dop), my brother atilla, who is also responsible for the artwork, and jonny cruz. by the time its out itll be a distant memory for me but hope it lasts a bit longer for anyone that listens to it

vrajitoroo. now the frightening thing about our boy razvan aka. vrajitoroo, is that his is only 17 years of age. born and raised in romania, his passion for electronic music first came to light at the age of 11. since then he has followed closely the careers of not only fellow romanians rhadoo and raresh, but a host of other stars of the techno circuit, including the heavy-weights, hawtin, vath, loco dice, carola, luciano and villalobos. the more he listened the more his passion grew, and soon his urge the make music could no longer be ignored, he set on his production journey. the first fruits of his labour are now here for you to check out. sent to lawler, it took him a very short time to decide that he wanted the tracks for viva music, and so, vrajitoroo becomes the latest new artist to join the label.... the three tracks din nou iar, tzushca and mai hai!, represent a new modern take on a classic tribal sound.
