the pioneers of slo-mo trance are back with the 4 th installment of their back to disco valley series on crowdspacer. don t get mislead though, there s almost nothing disco about full circle (aka alexis le tan and joakim). instead we re in for 15 minutes of psychedelic slow techno that became the trademark of the duo : on the harder, epic acid side of things on alien nation (probably the duo s biggest club edit so far) and on the trippy, tribal side on shivering shiva.

the brooklyn duo of bryce hackford and joakim teamed up again, this time as joyce, 2 years after their debut as jhack. a two track 12inch featuring a thumping and heady psychedelic deep house groove, in a classic prescription zone, on the a-side (bubbles). on the b-side, die siesta is a tribal ode to the balearic art of napping, a moody live percussion improvisation jumping down the bpm and floating on filtered piano chords.

this is the first 12 inch from luke jenner’s first solo project since his infamous new york band the rapture split up. very often first releases are like a statement. both sides of this 12 represent a side of what meditation tunnel is about: epic and melodic on dreamsequence, psychedelic and hypnotic on sunrise. mixed by joakim, whom luke shares a studio with in brooklyn.

we dont have much info to give about vicram, partly because the artist doesn t want us to communicate the few things we know. but this is his first ep. its super raw - not necessarily rough. raw like a piece of sushi, an unpolished unvarnished beautiful piece of wood, raw like those bare drum machines and simple acid lines. almost naive, like those early 90s idm-techno record we cherish but with a very different angle. as usual, we liked vicram because we dont really understand how he makes his music.

3 years ago, superpitcher made this mesmerizing remix of joakim s cover of neil young s on the beach. the buzz was instant, with djs from dixon to tim sweeney, dj tennis to mike simonetti asking us for the files of this extended deep techno cut. 3 years later we re finally releasing it as a joint crowdspacer / hippie dance release with an additional 20min long (!!) incredible ambient mix.

this 4th installment of the jimi bazzouka edits is dedicated to japan and a guy called ryuichi to be more specific.

deep techno that nods to mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. we obviously receive a lot of demos at crowdspacer, and we can t listen to them all, one detail has to catch our attention. it can be how you present yourself, a weird artwork, or like here, a name, aqua matrix. i wanted to check what aqua matrix was about. and what a surprise to hear such amazingly produced deep techno that brought me back to my love for mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. this is aqua matrix first ep. he s from portugal and i can t wait to hear what he comes up with next.

on the a-side, this is what we would call a banger here at crowdspacer. simple, stupid, raw, funky. is it a tribute to new york? not sure but the b side certainly is. to be more precise it’s a tribute to merce cunningham, the legendary choreographer, close collaborator of john cage and genius thinker who inspired the name of the label. based on a recorded lecture by merce, the eponymous track is a slow, hypnotic and organic house groove, an ode to movement and ny avant garde, because “...dancing is a visible action of life.”

a new collaboration project on crowdspacer. bryce hackford, part of one of the most daring dj crew in nyc (deep trouble), true purveyor of a certain new york club culture legacy (think arthur russell) and author of 2 acclaimed albums, came to joakims studio and after a few hours of live synth and drum machine jamming, jhack was born. i would describe this as psychedelic voodoo house music. but its up to you really.

dirty analog techno from french boss, crackboy trevor jackson: brilliant! crackboy (and all his dirty aliases) never disapoints for his second chapter on crowdspacer (after releases on tigersushi, im a cliché, zone or fragil), crackboy, the king of french dirty analog techno, half of pov with label-boss joakim, digs deeper into that detroit melanchol-epic vibe with weapons of steel on the a-side before going bonkers on the b-side with 2 naughty stripped-down beat-centric dj tools for the sweaty late night crowds. made me think of some gemini tracks when i first heard it (thats a compliment).

for those who dont know, cray76 is joakims alias under the crowdspacer umbrella. a playground to explore his love of house and techno.

jimi bazzouka is back! we all know jimis love for all sorts of music and especially african and traditional music. for this 3rd episode of outstanding edits, jimi goes industrial + synth pop + techno + african music. dont sleep if this ones sells out as fast as the 2 previous volumes.

this is the first of a 2 volumes series by crackboy dedicated to raw ghetto house and techno rooted in chicago (think armando rather than larry heard) on the thing and detroit on the dirt (think carl craigs project 69). both tracks come with useful dub tools for the real djs out there. pure analog power by a true master.

brash and rawkus house from japan. new comer on crowdspacer from japan, keita sano already released a few tracks on the amazing mr saturday night label. for crowdspacer, he came up with super twisted dirty techno. kung fu dog is like bruce lee making beats on cassette tape. red clay is like atomic power waves. and one punch is like godzilla stepping on your toe. not for the faint hearted.
