eternity and a day. in the early nineties automation were the masters of uk rave. 27 years later its about time to refresh one of their finest moments. extended original version comes with three stunning remixes.
marc & oveous bring the classic bruk flavours to atjazz’s label with their new e.p. ‘on again’. the original harks back to the old co-op nights with a tough bass synth and oveous’ soul laden vocals, tied together behind a punchy, syncopated broken beat rhythm. dress to sweat, this one will make the bodies move. first up on the flip side the ‘4x4 dub’ switches the rhythm to a straight up 4x4 house beat, but that subby synth carries through the broken beat touch. the original mixes’ vocals are dropped in favour of one of oveous’ short spoken word monologues before he steps back to let the music do the magic. the ‘dubstramental’ gives you one final interpretation utilising the same dubbed out template as the b1, but reverting back to the original broken beat pattern to give you three different flavours to throw down with.
the production machine of atjazz never seems to stop. if reaching track 10 in his recent series of releases wasn t enough, we find out that he has been secretly remixing the entire project into the album mix 2 . this is a very consistent and collected selection of work written & remixes month by month to reach 10 track summit, well, actually now it s 20!. a full body of incredibly diverse house music to suit a wide range of tastes and supported by so many industry leading djs the world over. the track series featured at many festivals in 2017 due to it s big sound and played by the likes of louie vega, jimpster, catz n dogs, laurent garnier, mark farina, anane vega, dj spinna, art of tones, giom, osunlade, marcel vogel just to name a few. the whole series stuck fast to the online deep house charts for months to boot and featured in many other charts the world over. martin adds, i was overwhelmed at the response to be honest, i have so much work to do just for the label and artists and with my mastering work on top of that, at the time this was the only way i could get around to releasing an album, track by track and i enjoyed every minute!mix 2 is totally what you d expect from this uk stalwart, emotional, full-bodied, well-crafted house music! a few words to point out the styling of each track.
this is a long overdue collaboration and we couldnt be more excited to present a brand new ep from our man, jenas mad scientist funk freak himself, metaboman. a stalwart veteran of the legendary musik krause camp, which has been a kindred spiritual sister label of sorts of ours since the millennium-turn heydays, being fellow purveyors of bold and raw dance floor music, still brimming with new ideas galore and bucket loads of soul. here with the wireless dancer ep we have metaboman in top form offering nothing less than his finest work: doppeldenk starts things off with some classic krause bump that brings to mind the heights of the duo at their peak but updated, like an stl banger turned up to 11 with sinewy melodic lines and that special thuringen twist. hanno follows up with a guest spot by jazz saxophone master thomas prestin, and guarantees to bring down the house with a storm of swinging stabs, rough riffs, and fresh-as-it-gets drum work. on the flip, splitit does exactly that, whether referring to wigs, legs, or that last drink ticket - where dusty blues vox chops and a rolling percussive smack down will revive any fading floor faces. and finally, echterg rounds it all out nicely with the illest of atonal trips and subsonic bass tones that the finer sound systems out there will fully indulge. much love from jena & paris to the world!
from the mind of the prolific genius legowelt (under the alias rising sun systems) comes this amazing space ambient longplayer. originally released digital-only in 2015, the album finally comes to vinyl with 11 tracks spread over two discs of musical tranquility in a picture cover, featuring brand new artwork by legowelt himself! using special quantum frequencies, this release will alter your brainwaves to make you a smarter and better human being. limited edition of 300 copies!
superb, heartwarming and spirit lifting gospel disco modern soul 45 first released in 1978 on philadelphia united records. calvin carr & company are enriched with sensitivity and alive with the spirit. the kind of gospel that sweeps all over you and runs through your veins. there is always a sense of inadequacy when attempting to describe just how good something is. words like exciting, inspiring and original come to mind but as always you will have to decide for yourself

dop is welcomed back on circus company with a three track heater of an ep with a night in sausalito, and there is no way of taming this one. this time, the trio get slapped on wax with a 12inch that is pitted straight for the dancefloor. deetron comes through with some classy dub work on the remix. kicking things off with their headline track, a night in sausalito, the trio combine their signature and intricate synth work with a mixture of lo-fi hums and percussive flares until jaw fills the mix and takes the track away. rolling on a2 with ischia, the trio drop a straight up meaty drum pattern with a haunting range of vocal licks and delicate synth grooves. on the flipside, deetron strips back the vocals and lays a solid housey dub that purs, intensifies and releases in all the right places.
a classic karizma cut complete with brand new reworks brings the heat for rsd on atjazz s effervescent arc label. originally released on hustle back in 2006, new interpretations from atjazz himself & osunlade add a whole new vibe to the track set to wow fans of the original & newcomers alike.
from the darkest corners of the rca vaults we bring you this super rare and wonderful, tripped out cosmic-psych rarity on 45! from 1977 this double-header is an eastern themed, moog driven oddity from the mysteriously monikered kamel oil company. written by the legendary bob azzam, eddie barclay (founder of barclay records) & greek record company owner antoine flamaritis, mustapha is an exotica soaked orchestral monster with choir vocals and string arrangements that only the big boys could call in. this is a serious left-field nugget from the vaults of one of the biggest majors, one ends up thinking - how did this come about?! . on the flip-side we have petrolo en bruto , which is the real gem here, undoubtedly this one will appeal to fans of the far flung reaches of world music and psych, even those of you who dig the various flavours of funk from around the globe. a truly special and unique record here, often sought after by the deepest of the crate diggers and obscure sound searchers on a promo 45, this rare ep now sees a fully legit reissue. made in conjunction with above board distribution and rca this reissue is sourced from their vaults using original materials and remastered and repressed to the highest standard for 2018 and featuring all original 1977 rca label artwork.
SPACE FIRE TRUTH PT II (WHERE YOUR SHADOW ALWAYS HAS COMPANY)
12" Vinyl UK02.03.18
uzuri is proud to bring back our very own giorgio luceri after realising his first space fire truth ep with us last fall.this one really pushes the envelope, and dare we say, this may well be his best work to date.
should not need any introduction to deep disco heads, huge spin for red greg, floating points, jeremy underground etc. love tempo is this years banger in january, well know to those deep in the game for some time but dog rare and good makes finding an o.g a fantasty, so here you go my pleasure.
good company records & motor works is proud to present gcr008, a custom soundtrack for their latest luxury offering, designed and built by local rev-head, james ireland and styled by the mysterious ginoli. from fine-tuned machine funk (wild hall) through blacktop beatdown (carma), dub this bespoke vinyl to cassette (with our compliments) and chart a course from the garage of your mind to the freeways of detroit, via the back streets of london. flip the sun visor for cannoli, ride slow to tek g, turn down the erstwhile, eponymous untitled while you look for the right address, then pull up alongside the newest models from your favourite marques. skrrrrrrt!
lucky number seven for good company records is the o.g.ep, roza terenzi s cheekily-titled debut. three tracks of doof-approved club gear from the perth-born melbourne resident, plus a bonus sunday-morning-coming-up megamix from vancouver s jayda g. with a sound like windham hill gone hardcore, this record promises fans from black rock to berlin. after the driving, new age electro of opener the right zone, terenzi declares yeh yeh yeh with a bush-bashing jeep of a bassline, blasting roxanne shante as the posse pile out of the whip & into the function. later, higher place sparks the chalice for a pre-dawn dip into the spirit realm. sometime after that, designated driver (and freakout cult-leader) jayda g takes the wheel, pulling into the church car park with her deep in your soul remix, a piano house kick-on of all three roza terenzi originals. feels good, right?
circus company and the mole have long been making eyes at each other across the same crowded dancefloor. colin de la plante?s primary project is synonymous with the off-kilter corner of house music we like to spend our time dancing in, and the labels he releases on are close cousins of the circus troupe. from wagon repair to philpot, musique risquee to perlon, it?s a wonder that we haven?t worked together previously, but finally that?s been put right with little sunshine. stripped back, understated disco grooves have always been the bread and butter of the mole?s sound, while infectious, cyclical melodic patterns are equally important in making his unique version of house music. on the title track, those elements are presented with full force, but in between the driving rhythms linger the most gorgeous keys, bringing a mellow introspection to the track as a neat counterpoint to the energy of the drums and arpeggios
blackcash & theo get back at it with the latest in this series of funk soul party edits. pleasure bouncy lady is an amazing funk break track, produced by jazz legend wayne henderson of the crusaders. the intro break has been extended, and is one of the all time classic hip hop funk breaks. elements of this track were sampled on brand new funk by dj jazzy jeff & the fresh prince, word to the mother (land) by big daddy kane, and church by de la soul. whatnauts why cant people be colors too is a soul / r&b jam with another heavy break, as sampled by q-tip, pete rock, diamond d, dilla, and oh my god by a tribe called quest featuring busta rhymes.
ofo the rock company (originally known as ofo the back company) were nigeria’s first acid-rock band. blending hendrix and deep purple with shamanism and a pro-black philosophy, they cut their teeth at fela kuti’s afrika shrine, developing a fearsome live reputation that intimidated every other band in lagos. no one wanted to follow the guys from ofo, not even fela himself.
after a storming 2016 celebrating twenty years of atjazz, where the master musician himself has spent the year jetting all over the globe performing shows to both loyal fans and new converts alike, atjazz record company is very excited to crown this hugely successful year with a release like no other. please allow us to present: that something else!
from the age of 13, jullian gomes secretly gambled every cent of his school lunch money on buying deep-house records, no doubt with the unknown knowledge that someday, these records would change his life forever. only a few people know this but jullian used to sneak, yes! sneak into local clubs in and around pretoria / tshwane from a very early age. at this time nothing could stop this young man being in the moment to enjoy the music that has now, amazingly, become his full time career. maybe his parents will be ok with the knowledge of his secret nightlife now knowing how incredibly skilled and loved their son has become throughout the world of dance music.
beautiful piano melodies, ballads drawing their inspiration from jazz, classical music and cinematic imagery, hummed choruses, a mood at the crossroad of nostalgia and reverie, instruments with uncanny timbre and charm, chiseled percussions, added to a subtle electronic production, this is the recipe for tout va bien, the second solo album by french composer ezechiel pailhes.
up next on good company records is tourist kid s under armour suite , a power ambient head cleaner in four parts, built for the club, and best enjoyed at high volume. originally recorded in a sweltering bedroom in hawaii, the a-side pits rolling virtual piano against heavyweight clouds of crisp dsp that jitter and jostle at 125 bpm for this, local audio/visual artist rory glacken s first vinyl release. on the flip, the suite is reworked by basic mind, one half of gcr alumni long body, who lures a blowfly house stomper from the original s minimal, digital dusk. packaged in a disarmingly plain black sleeve !

fresh from perth s most prolific percussion den, we re proud to introduce gcr006: the keenly-awaited debut lp from local rhythm magician phil stroud. presented in an absorbing listening arc and captured with crystal clarity, this self-titled slow burner is an artful and meditative journey, filled out with straight up danceable joy. in just over an hour, stroud leads a pilgrimage through intricate landscapes of percussive beauty. there s the restrained, hypnotic approach of ritual and tribe in amongst organic house workouts with rich orchestrations. nimble vocal motifs and shimmering flutes ride the hefty grooves of the birds, scintillating and outside as field recordings surprise and delight. fix a glass of punch in time for the smooth, melodic neo-exotica of flow. and as the physical plane fades away, lose yourself in the shimmering ambience of middle east, a mellow final act recalling the more mystic moods of alice coltrane.
the maverick maestro from the bay dave aju is back with his circus family here with an incredible new release. based on stripped-down hardware sessions rocking just a roland tr-909 and sh-101, aju once again proves that no sound set need be limited in itself and along with the addition of one microphone for his inimitable soulful voice, creates one of his strongest and most imaginative releases to date, the 10101 ep. a multiple homage to the 101 freeway that spans his native golden state and the numeric classic analog boxes used vs digital binary to process them, the four rich tracks offer the best of both worlds and cover all the bases of mr ajus musical multiverse. low dive starts things on a deep heads-down dance floor tip where rising synth lines soar over a blast of shuffling drums and percussion for a rocksolid djs delight. always never comes next with pure aju magic, equal parts song and track, an ear worm of a chorus, and full of sunny west coast electro influences all the way through. on the flip sides may very well be one of ajus most intense transmissions ever, with a sublime and seemingly endless build-up of dark pads, driving, shifting rhythms, and voodoo vocals that will detonate many a peak-hour sound system guaranteed. aju then tastefully finishes with the cool psychedelic mid-tempo bump of tell her why which harks back to his hip-hop roots and wraps up the vibe and elements of the whole ep perfectly. welcome back with a bang brother aju!
new years deal - another genre bending release on the healing company. modern sounding wave vibes and a great break beat loaded track on the flip that wont do harm to any good dancefloor!. -an ancient puzzle of mystification and nostalgia, waiting for the listener to unravel the mystery, but never offering enough clues to do so. while an ever-growing mass of synth layers and bulbous basslines flow across these two tracks, it never comes off as too clean, instead relying on the occasional detune or bitcrush to remind you it s being made by humans, not a machine.-
a legend to those who know, todd sines makes his first appearance on circus company in a fit of sharp-edged, wildly expressive house music that harks back to the unhinged early days of the label. sines has a career that stretches back to the early 90s, having released lauded records under the .xtrak moniker on peacefrog and 7th city amongst other legendary labels.
up next on good company records is the hi vibe ep, a four-track trip into the outback of your mind, with synthetic friends timo l and deni deni, aka long body. setting off early in the piano-led landcruiser on a big trip , the listener is then invited to drop out by the spring of fuzzy logic ... over on the flip, it s (inner-)spacesuits on, until the dreamtime kosmische of stay vacation awakens to endless going and re-entry procedures can begin... -splashdown- !
its a long time since we last heard from dop. the boys have been far from quiet, continuing to tour and enchant party people across the world with their infectious fusion of house music and refined songwriting. theyve equally been no strangers to the studio, with their les fils du calvaire project releasing the recent rester avec toi collaboration with miss kittin in preparation for the debut album of the project later this year
over the last 12 months, new mexico-based label plastik people has put out a number of superb eps featuring little known, and hard-to-find house jams. the latest edition in their collections series continues on a similar theme, and opens with the undulating boogie bass, drifting chords and wild organ solos of kerri chandlers 1999 cut * we can* (initially released on black vinyl, fact fans). on the flip you ll find the classic u.s garage/soulful house of andre wade & company s brilliant * bend over* - all woozy chords, chunky beats and rich organ lines - and the new jersey style garage bump of madagascar s overlooked *i never thought (homegrown dub)*.
played by maurice, monsieur cedric (serie limitee), mike w - kolour ltd, lady blacktronika, manooz, steve froggatt (pocket money), anaxander
