2018 repress coming in! finally - the great new cleric release arrives! solid, dry club techno with 2 locked grooves to boot. london based artist cleric originally started sending us over material a couple of years back. as his sound developed and improved more scope was created to start looking at putting together his debut first release on eartoground. we feel this is his best release to date and have very much enjoyed putting it together.

manchester-based producer cleric continues to grow through his own clergy imprint with the label’s 7th release, “rules of reality”. the ep is an exercise in fully-focused. highly-distilled techno purity, leading first with a perpetuating drum groove offset against an icy stab on “unwritten future”. next, “unspoken rules” channels the same minimalistic aesthetic into a more hypnotic mood, driving deeper down into a land of introspection with tension-laced percussion and hovering chords, whilst “unwanted arrival” exhausts the pressure with its mind-comsuming acid pattern, followed by the more exposed, cinematic “beatless mix”.

from the storming energy of opening cut the key of night all the way through to the deepertripping solar fields its a must-have ep for >those who know<. young uk based producer cleric has established himself not only as a bonafide new talent and key player in the international techno world, but also as a prolific artist on figure. now well known for his crisp, deadly club tracks and rich melancholic ambient studies, in this fifth single for the label he explores his hard-hitting yet luxurious sound ever further. whats immediate about the four tracks on offer here is clerics extremely powerful, yet masterfully controlled bass frequencies. coupled with his addictive, smart and dark 90s-reminiscent synth hooks, we are left with an array of stomping, percussive weapons primed for expansive spaces and killer sound systems.

we are very excited to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of >hex recordings< so for the occasion, we decided to create the most powerful release so far, a triple-vinyl various artists, which includes the creations of some of the artists that are closest to the movement but never released on the label until now like rebekah, cleric, remco beekwilder, together with new members like benjamin damage, aeit, imperial black unit, end train, rommek, maere, 6siss and of course some of the ambassadors of the label like under black helmet, vii circle and the two hex founders paolo ferrara and lorenzo raganzini. the title of the release is >angels from hell< and it represents the most ambitious release ever created by hex. 3 flaming red colour vinyl.
