original copies of this beautiful chain reaction 7 inch have been changing hands for £500, so this is a true digger s delight. exceptional soul from the late 70s which hundreds before have attempted to license to no avail. lack of trust was a key issue in these pursuits, after say yeah was used in a b grade hollywood movie without permission, alongside record collectors cleaning producer harold sargent out of his original 45s before upping them on ebay for $1000 apiece. cue the good people at rain & shine, a non-profit organisation based out of new zealand, who have worked with chain reaction directly to license this incredible record properly - returning all net profits to the artists involved. it really doesnt get much better than this - spiritual stuff! comes complete with picture sleeve, pressed on black vinyl with a large dinked centre hole.
great 12 inch featuring two superb rarities from renowned disco label sound of new york. run by legendary producer peter brown, this small harlem-based imprint garnered a massive reputation in the late 70s and early 80s turning out some of the best disco tracks ever made. first up here is ny disco funk favourite >dance freak< from chain reaction. produced by peter brown himself, this is pure dancefloor dynamite, as raw and funky as it gets with pumping horns, grinding bass, wild percussion and crazy synths building steadily to a high-octane blistering dancefloor freakout! on the flip is the equally fantastic >shout at the disco< from little scotty, another relentless rough grooving jam, also produced by the prolific mr b. with both these tracks super-expensive and extremely hard to find in the original, don t miss this chance to get your copy!
amsterdam based deejay/producer chain reaction stands for powerful uplifting hardstyle. besides his excellent deejay skills he recently signed a record deal on lunas label minus is more. his performances on reset showed he is no rookie behind the decks.
chain reaction, the hard in hardstyle!
ruff drilling action tracks, incl. locked grooves by peter kuschnereit aka substance aka dj pete. significant is his love for shuffled percussions that comes from his interest in chicago track works since the late 80s
the work of japans tetsuo tsuri, this is another classic chain reaction album thats long been unavailable and is now thankfully back in stock in limited quantities. notable for having no fewer than three pre-index hidden tracks (in other words, rewind back from track one to find them), -various films- is another treasure-trove of dubbed-out, sometimes complex spacious goodness, chain reaction styles.
franck kartell’s third full length release on bass agenda recordings sees him continuing to do what he has done since he began this creative trajectory of making concept driven albums, pushing himself, his art and your experience as a listener, into new realms.
as with his last album la jette d’orly, this next chapter in kartell’s adventures in creativity is inspired and influenced by the cinematic works and writing of chris marker.
following on from sell out albums afterlife and la jette d’orly the new double vinyl album coincidences immerses you in 12 distinct scenes, painted with sound.
to transport a listener to another plain within seconds is not easy, yet it is something franck kartell achieves here not once but 12 times in a row, sustaining the illusion of escape throughout each track, cradling your mind as it experiences beauty, majesty, fear, darkness, peace and wonder.
supported by thomas h green (the arts desk), dave clarke (including best electro of 2016), timeline music and many more.

emmanuel’s “rave culture” is a record that pushes the boundaries of techno to another level. “rave culture” is his first full-length on the label bringing 2x12” round of wax. ten cuts that are committed to fill a space in the rave scene that no one else has done in terms of power, experimentation, work of soul and most of all showing respect for the old-school way of doing things. this lp is his largest achievement yet and aims to showcase who he is.
emmanuel directs the listener to unknown territory keeping them very concentrated on a rave scenario, but also giving them different reasons to think, act & explode - all with the right balance. deadly floor massacre weapons and well crafted heavy bass works elevate to a modern way of thinking as well as challenging the dancer to think forward and get inspired.
rave has never been so alive and this is the testimony of it all.
time has come: asymptote duo, owner of the label, makes its debut with its first ever release. sav004, behind the scene ep, is the result of a driving combination between old and new school elements, aimed at the big floor. a side, is darker and deeper, made by two acid and atmospheric techno cuts: behind the scene and chain reaction . on the b side, the traveller is a minimalistic techno trip, with millsian reminiscences. plastic city instead, with its essential sonorities, draws inspiration by the old detroit school, trying to evolve it and go well beyond. past and future create the present
synthek inaugurates his own record label with a solo ep featuring 4 alienating broken cuts. ‘escape from reality’ as first track, goes down as a bleeping submarine, deep diving into underwater caves where a slow and hypnotic rhythm reverberates through ears and mind. second cut ‘alchemy’ continues the interdimensional explorations, and after long intro, it gradually detaches from the surface reaching a leaden sky. drums and claps alternates on a soundscape of constant roars, holding the track in a steady mesmerizing jingle. the b-side opens with ‘found myself’, edgy broken beat with a stronger and more club-oriented dynamism which finds its best shot in the last cut ‘chain reaction’. a ravishing synthline drives through tribalesque drums, snares and thunderclaps to close the record with a mystic vibe
hannu ikola is a finnish artist and owner of the etherwerks label, releasing his third record on the imprint. *chrysalis* is a four track opus of raw and swarthy techno. in the tracks ikolas musical inspiration from experimental and ambient music can be heard.
journey, the american hard rock band that was formed in 1973 and became a sensation in the early 80s, didnt fully break through until their 1982 hit >dont stop believin<.
