das dritte und letzte kapitel der woolfy vs projections album-trilogie findet mit stations seinen krönenden abschluss, der mit den alben the astral projections of starlight aus dem jahr 2008 began und mit the return of love aus 2012 fortgeführt wurde. das konzept der alben-saga der band aus los angeles von simon james und dan hastie basiert lose auf den abenteuern des verschollenen astronauten captain starlight, der held des zazu songs, einem balearic rock klassiker, der auch den sound von woolfy vs projections auszeichnet, mitbeeinflusst hat, ein düsterer balearic und cosmic vibe, verbunden mit dem typischen west coast sound, disco dub, funk und hippie rock. stücke wie absynth (von resident advisor treffend mit air covering steely dan umschrieben), neeve oder set me loose können allesamt als moderne klassiker des genres bezeichnet werden.

das kalifornische balearic disco/westcoast-rock duo woolfy vs projections präsentiert den nachfolger seines 2008er-albums >the astral projections of starlight< als 12 inch lp, inklusive cd-version. >the return of love< wirkt wie ein stelldichein von bryan ferry, den wings und david crosby, vermischt mit dubbigen disco-sounds und einem entspannten vibe, der gleichermaßen auf ibiza wie an der amerikansichen westküste zuhause ist. aufgenommen wurde das album in den kalifornischen bergen. es ist musik, die wie eine zeitgenössiche form psychedelischen westcoast-rocks klingt. der song >nina< etwa, entstanden in zusammenarbeit mit dem hamburger disco- und house-produzenten tensnake, steht einen guten peyote-trip sicherlich in nichts nach.

nice price deal !!! sects third and final sampler for the >its all for you< compilation ends on a bittersweet note, seeing the last release from sect favourite grovskopa, who has decided to retire following the closest of near death experiences. the a-side features lags remix of his sect classic >atopic<, reworking the lurching bass and broken-beat rhythms of the original into a hypnotic number with a fractured synth melody. the b-side sees >62:02<, a brittle yet powerful track with churning bass which recalls drexciyas classically hard edged approach, combined with hazy orchestral sweeps - a fitting swansong for a great producer.

its needless to add many words to the big success of >the elephants< original release. we however could not resist to have it remixed by some of the worlds hottest producers. and here they are: great names, great music!! go for it
