marking its ten-year anniversary dynamic reflection is set to release continuum, a collection of five uniquely intertwined ep’s. the special series commemorates the label’s roots, evolution and establishment and honors its residents and friends. the continuum-series will feature twenty exclusive tracks. the eps sonos, magno hyacinthum, fluctus, luna frigus and terra nova are planned as part of continuum. individually each will pay tribute to four distinct artists that have inspired and shaped the sound of dynamic reflection. collectively they become the articulation of a decade of techno.
featuring tracks from blawan, shdw & obscure shape, jeroen search and stefan vincent, magno hyacinthum represents the second planet in the continuum-constellation, consisting of five exclusive releases in celebration on the 10th anniversary of dynamic reflection.
debut album from blawan, possibly one of the finest techno records you ll hear this year ... physically and mentally draining in the best way possible, wet will always dry is maybe the most complete statement from blawan to date, and as such should be ignored at your peril. this becomes evident from the album-opening “klade,” a dizzying, tumbling flight of pure energy over overlapping fields of electrified menace. this sets the stage for “careless,” which retains the hazardous, crackling atmosphere but dials back the intensity just enough to make room for a new feature, blawan’s eerie and disembodied vocals.
aikens recent contribution to psyks non series gets remixed by talented uk producers blawan, volte-face and james ruskin. blawans remix of genetics sets the tone with energetic rhythms and trippy sound textures, volte-face delivers a progressive and hypnotic version of hybrid and james ruskin ends the release with his own intense yet funky interpretation of dominance.
berlin based zehnin keeps up a fine release schedule by asking blawan to remix its inaugural ep from lucy. once again focussing on experimental, ambient and techno sounds, it is another fascinating release. blawan has been in his own sound world for years now. releasing on the likes of hessle audio, hinge finger and his own ternesc, hes made brutalist, heavily textured tracks, big room tools and dark grooves with freaky sound design. its all helped to make him one of the most interesting producers of the day, and here he shows another side to his sound. first up is his version of ‘the hermit, which is seven spacious and mysterious minutes of creeping pads and implicit rhythms. dark but inviting, its stripped back, hollowed out techno that manages to be hugely absorbing and menacing without any clearly defined drums. on the flip is the equally beguiling ‘the high priestess. deep, subliminal kicks set the tone as groaning riffs, train-track percussion and distant, tortured pads all slowly hypnotise. it builds in pressure and creeps you out as it locks you ever further in. this is evocative dead-of-night music that says a lot in impressively economical ways.
highly recommended!! parassela is the live and studio project of the analogue cops and blawan. they are back on restoration record with the “flunkey” e.p., an explosive 4 tracker of massive hardware jams. uptempo beats, heavy basses, suspicious noises, obnoxious analogue pads. raw-fi techno at its state of the art, helically scanned with no hesitation to 12.7 mm. magnetic bands.
2016 repress - r&s welcome another newcomer to the family. with only one release behind him on hessle audio and a wicked remix for warp (the hundred in the hands) blawan finds his new tracks in demand from the likes of james blake, jackmaster, untold, ben ufo, ramadanman and pariah. the title track is already creating a bit of a stir from its inclusion in a few high profile dj sets, but all three tracks raise the game for this young producer. the whole ep is filled with an honest, infectious energy, just like his dj sets. you cant pigeonhole this as >post< anything, its pure, stripped down, club music. sometimes drums, bass and acid is all you need.
blawan’s new side project bored young adults is up next on will bankhead’s label the trilogy tapes. the shy dancers on bungalowdorf beach features some restrained and slow burning techno experiments that differ from jamie robert’s more usual hard-hitting sounds. the seething title track treads the same path as kassem mosse or vactrol park. the fentanyl techno of “but we need this bench” sounds like an old regis record played on -8, while devoted fans of the young uk producer’s sound will get something a bit more familiar on the menacing hypnotic techno grinder “check up from the neck up”.
a surprising collaboration between mannella and the uk technos bearer - blawan- that clearly establish a deep techno-space, where the quirky sounds are free to be developed and created. right from the very first second of the dark breeze, which spreads a fluid, echoing and fickle synth, we can hear those fuzzy noises that mannella loves to use. a perfect combo is given by the presence of intense drums, thorough pads and harped synths: a total head-trip that flows in the whole ep. then, with i know you are a cheerful air gain the upper hand, leading it to be theperfect dance floor track. even if is just the second release, its pretty explicit the aim that the label has come to play in music today.
over seven years of grounded theory and a clutch of celebrated releases to his name, henning baer has already proven himself one of the finest berlin has to offer. with the launch of his manhigh imprint, he takes the jump to full control of his own output, freed of the constraints of collaborators and outside artistic direction.

ternesc is new label from blawan, and for its first outing presents his first solo 12 inch since that hinge finger release. believe us when we say that * warm tonal touch* is blawan in utmost killer form.
we are proud to present our next vinyl. the release 004 will open the doors to the limited series called lab series. the first lab series is made up of four tracks, two produced by parassela on side a (the duo of blawan and the analogue cops), and the b-‐,side from limo and buck.
parassela is the studio and live project of blawan and the analogue cops. their first release on their own label with the same name has become a collectors item in less than 40 days. now the project lands on restoration, featuring the appearance of pariah on track a1, a crossover monster of techno and garage. getting darker, a2 is an unfriendly radio-activity with a gloomy chicagoid reminiscence.
debut for blawan on clone records! this is his first 4 track ep containing cuts that are more straight forward compared to his early releases. 4 relentless tracks. big one!
transparent dark green vinyl with a smokey touch (black marbled).
vae victis records kicks off his records catalogue with a 4 tracks ep where raw house and techno get mixed up thru machines and then recorded on tape. the project, a 6 hands affaire, sees teaming up three of the most interesting artists of the moment: the analogue cops, duo already known for their imprint restoration records and for their moodymanns remix under the appointment moniker and blawan, the uk producer who saw his debuts released last year by imprints such as hessle audio, warp, r&s and soon on clone who represents, alongside fellows james blake, pearson sound a.k.a ramadanman and joy orbison, the young breed of talentented new uk producers. promising start for this new label!!
after inigos deeper & slower excursions on his 2 previous eps >the shard< & >the darkest valentine<, he now returns to his dirtier, more energetic tricks. as usual, i have been sitting on these tracks a while and both of them have been thoroughly road tested. >revenge< can rip up any dance floor peak time, while >scatter< explores idm territory, almost in afx fashion.
highly recommended! after the celebrated single >retro vogue<, restoration strikes back with a 4 track e.p. designed to blast the planetary sound systems. bombproof analogue music produced during wild sessions at the restoration headquarters.
on side a, blawan (r&s records), one of the most talented u.k youngsters, join the forces of the analogue cops. a1 is an analogue hand grenade: spacey, smashing, twisted. a2 is an heavy, jacky house excursion with delightful piano chords over solid raw beats.
on side b, mister ryan elliott (ghostly / ostgut ton) visits the analogue cops and the result is impressive. b1 is a forthright house track with a techno attitude, a sensual vocal hook runs over an huge bass drum with sharp hi-hats. b2 is an hard driving minimalistic sci-fi trip, dancefloor oriented but fast paced from trends.
for its third release, teal brings you danish newcomer tobias pedersen alias beastie respond. syncopy is a fresh breath of air into the hottest of drum n bass sounds currently making waves in the dance and on the radiostations. the soothing melodic line, and tight percussive elements has already caught the attention of dbridge, loxy and many others, resulting in a feature on the final autonomic podcast layer. on the flip blawan shows his darker side, and morphs syncopy into a techno beast with surgical precision. dj support include icicle and 2562. essential!
marking its ten-year anniversary dynamic reflection is set to release continuum, a collection of five uniquely intertwined ep’s. the special series commemorates the label’s roots, evolution and establishment and honors its residents and friends. continuum will feature twenty exclusive tracks from artists ranging from oscar mulero, steffi, deepbass, jeroen search and shifted to delta funktionen, abstract division, donato dozzy, mike parker and blawan. limited box set with 5 coloured vinyls.
since it’s inception in 1991 on the streets of glasgow, soma records has stood for uncompromising quality of the highest level in every area it operates. stuart mcmillan & orde meikle formed slam during the acid house explosion in the late 80’s and then together with friends glenn gibbons & dave clarke they forged one of electronic music’s most widely known and well respected labels. with mcmillan & meikle as the figureheads with their slam project and influenced by the early detroit techno scene, soma quickly began to develop it’s own sound and with their eyes firmly fixed on a vision of the future, the team began the quest to instill their unquenchable thirst for electronic music into the world around them. soma quickly became an international brand as slam’s anthemic “positive education” brought about an electronic renaissance that saw the group thrust into the limelight and green lit the furious rise of the label.

TIPTOP AUDIO RECORDS VARIOUS ARTISTS 001 (2X12 LP)
2x12" Vinyl lp D28.04.15
californian modular synthesizer and audio equipment producter tiptop audio is proud to introduce a new project for 2015: tiptop audio records. in the recent years musical productions have seen a remarkable return to the use of hardware through analog synthesizers and digital control interfaces. this trend has proven so strong that it prompted a rebirth of modular synths in a new format (eurorack). tiptop audio has made a name producing sophisticated but easy to use modules, designed to form a complete system that is especially effective for dance-oriented productions and live sets. tiptop audio records selected for its first issue some of the most groundbreaking artists using such systems, to present a range of artists who, through their tracks, explore the landscape of dance music in a very fresh perspective. these are the artists who inspire the tiptop team to make more innovative devices, which in turn make new music (a nice feedback loop).
from the depths of the cavernous restoration headquarters comes the debut album from the notorious analogue cops and marks their return to the infamous berlin imprint. after a busy 2012 curating the third side project together with steffi, the duo pair up for this filthy, distorted and crackling collection of hardware oddities, body stompers and circuit-bending analogue excursions built for total dance floor annihilation....
chris page is one of the rising talents within the london techno scene. having djed since the early 00s, productions followed suit and slowly but surely, a solid back catalogue of tracks has been created.
while sam barker & andreas baumecker are spending time on the road with their impressive hardware live set (during which they fuse tracks from their debut album *transsektoral* with new dancefloor burning material), some of their closest peers have been busy on their own re-workings, resulting in four tracks from their album in new, exciting flavours.
highly recommended!unity is the first single taken from third sides forthcoming album unified fields, that will be released on restoration records in september 2012. third side is the project of the analogue cops and panorama bar resident steffi, their collaborations, which have been released exclusively on restoration, have been of the most interesting jams of the last years. the original unity, a fat overshadowing deep techno track, written and produced only with machines and recorded on tape, comes with 3 massive analogue remixes. the rework made by blawan (sheworks/hessle audio) smashes the parts of the composition with overbearing oldschool british manners and the result is a broken shuffled industrial hammering. on side b, steffis remix is relentless, rushing and carefully build:her attention for the processing of every detail transforms the original tune into an hypnotic breathtaking excursion. the last treatment is performed by the nightjars, an unidentified project that has brought down a particular attention for its debut ep on vae victis records. with a bossy employ of the most advanced analogue equipment, the nightjars slash an incendiary attack of warehouse garage.
this format is 3x12 inch vinyl & 2 x cd packaged together in a gatefold sleeve shrink wrapped. one of the reasons ascribed to dubsteps continuing success has been its ability to absorb influences from across the entire electronic spectrum, and no label has been more key to its continuing evolution than hessle audio. started in 2007 by david kennedy, ben thomson and kevin mcauley, the label quickly became a benchmark for quality, through releases from (the then) new artists like trg, untold and james blake, as well as a vehicle for their own productions. with 18 releases over the past three years, the imprint is renowned for its impeccable quality control.
otdxi is the newest installment in the classic r&s compilation series. previous installments have been responsible for rounding up the labels roster at the time and presenting their finest tracks to a wider audience, and have gone onto become classics in their own rights. with r&s again re-positioned as one of the most forward thinking electronic labels and with an enviable roster of cutting edge young talent it makes perfect sense to relaunch the series. disc one contains highlights from the last 18 months and includes contributions from blawan, lone and untold whose classic r&s influences are worn on their sleeves. tracks from james blake, pariah and the chain take cues from a distinctly uk sound, which the label has been keenly following from its new london base, and in cmyk have the biggest single from 2010.
