support by roman fluegel ! wonky techno banger is combining a demented fairground melody, flappy off beat bassline and manic peak time flavour, its an absolute thumper which has the potential to radically transform your nightlife
tommy rawson releases are sporadic but always high quality. as a former member of the souled duo who ran the excellent fresh minute label hes been around the more tropical end of uk house and broken beat for many years and this, his first full release for bergerac ushers forth a new level in his sound. this whole record is a masterclass in post bruk, forward thinking, shining, bright uk dance music. unmatched in emotion and vibes. deep blue is quite simply the sound of the summer. sun drenched, euphoric and soaring. broken but not broken, 4/4 but not quite housey. jazzy, soulful yeah. it was the highlight of red rack ems olive grove closing set at love international last year when it provided the most halcyon of moments. live trumpet from vicky flint and a whole bag of vibes from tommy rawson. this is a classic. trust. past tense is a super tropical african tinged house stomper which shows tommys love of sunshine vibes once more with acres of space, insistent chants, dubby pianos and a tinge of jungle roller bass. the final track into the future takes us into almost blade runner-esque orchestral emotion but with a kind of balearic feel tucked in there too. beautiful, lilting, emotional memories. you can feel so much love in this track. such a special record. buy it. love it. treasure it.
new zealand based ebm auteur body beat ritual makes his debut on bergerac with an incendiary ep of full throttle intense dark wave bangers. growing up in north west england immersed in hardcore punk and rave culture led to musical experiments and body beat ritual is his unique splicing of both aesthetics. using a combination of hardware, audio samples and midi sequencing, body beat ritual reclaims the moment when underground musicians in manchester, chicago and ghent put down their guitars and picked up drum machines and sequencers bringing the intensity, rawness and aggression of the band environment to the dancefloor. mortal sin is a certified smasher. absolute dancefloor decimation whenever its played out. no more description necessary. no mercy evokes the lost boys vibe with an equally high octane raw workout. trent reznor meets jeff mills at a daf gig on a flatliner. the ep closes with body politics which lowers the tempo to a chuggier zone, with an ode to female empowerment which keeps up that body beat pressure and intensity.
berlin based jens dohle is a man of many talents. an accomplished composer and arranger for theatre productions across europe, classically trained multi instrumentalist, explosive live drummer for ye:solar, munk, hot coins, sado opera. longtime collaborator with danilo plessow aka mcde and noema from african shakedown fame. remixer for jazzanova and 4 hero. there s not enough room here to list his amazing work. 2018 ushers forth a new identity to his already enviable c.v with his first ep as james dole (a jokingly anglicised version of his birth name). the 3 tracks here all showcase his ability to create a strong mood and use great splashes of melody and rhythm but without ever losing the groove. written during a period of introspection in deepest, darkest berlin, each one tells a different story. ex is a moody monster of a track. it builds and builds into a pounding nightime symphony with a kind of epic-ness which hints at many years spent mining the highs and lows of music, love and life. big room yet with a gut wrenching soul beneath the slightly flamboyant majesty. made in east berlin and well road tested in the cities debauched nightclubs. fantasia shows off mr doles jazz and broken beat background with rolling, funky drums sashaying with hip hoppy live jazz keys. then those signature euphoric yet melancholic synths appear halfway through the track to create an emotionally halcyon mood. wibes. the ep closes with grande. super melodic yet cinematic with amazing synth work and a sophisticated arrangement showcasing james s well trained musicianship and artistry. an opus of melody and longing built for italian arthouse films about unrequited love. dj support from - midland, honey soundsystem, sandrino, jimpster, ame, dvs1, shadow child, joe goddard, red rack em, futureboogie, soft rocks, domenic cappello, downtown party network, danny russell
bergen is the next, and natural step in the expanding career of dutch producer tom trago. the acclaimed producer behind voyage direct will release his fourth lp, with the label and crew he s built a close relationship with over the past ten years - dekmantel. with a new studio and approach to music, bergen is trago sounding at his very finest, returning to his roots with a focussed, and dedicated production ethos.
nice price deal !!! new years deal - what more can be said about 2016 for red rack em apart from massive? in march, he released the instant classic wonky bassline disco banger which has been one of the biggest selling house tracks of the year, picking up praise and plays across the board from moodymann, the black madonna and mcde right through to disclosure and mark ronson.
tomato pope is a slamming party banger. somewhere between house, techno, african music and broken beat, the drums are driving, the bassline is huge and the vocal samples get mangled throughout the track. it s another guaranteed floor wrecker from red rack em and gives a tantalising taste of the lp weight to follow.
danny berman aka red rack em is back with 2 more burners on his much loved bergerac label. after slaying everyone last year with wonky bassline disco banger and this years hotly tipped self portrait lp he s got his sights set firmly on the dancefloor once more. 2017 has been a vintage year for the berlin based dj producer with radio 1 mixes, serious air miles, remixes for tensnake, tinie tempah, shows for rinse and after a hectic summer, it s time to focus on his own productions and get back to what he does best. making slamming house cuts designed for maximum floor damage. place for me (version) is a cut up, pumping, soulful disco house slammer. originally released in 2009, it s been updated and remastered and is another great example of red rack ems ability to chop up vocal samples and make something fresh from them. guaranteed club wrecker, which served as a pre-cursor to wbdb and thus needs to be out there once more. exhalt is a super deep, spiritual house number with vibes galore. deep pads and crisp beats combine with deep bass in an ecstacy tinged, euphoric disco number. one for the heads…
the 3 release. 3 artists. 3 solid tracks. rex hansson has made a solid original version. you clearly hear his skills as a past percussionist. the beats together with skånska vocals, low key rhodes and some 303 knob twiddling make this track special and great. emil nyman. this mix is something. it’s tossing and turning from a metallic sound to the softest wood. from the deepest parts of the ocean we follow the pads and organ up in the sky. the b side is dedicated clark eng. a minimal offbeat version with low toms and rattling high sticks, claps and snares. the track is moving like a newcomen engine. the minor changes all the time makes it to a hypnotic minimal house track.
respected producer and dj red rack em is due to release his new album self portrait this february via his own label bergerac. formed over the course of four years during a transitional period after moving to berlin, self portrait, as the title suggests, is a true reflection of danny berman and his influences.
as a central point of reference of grischa lichtenbergers la demeure/il y a pé,,,ril en la demeure complex, raster-noton releases a limited edition of three 12inch vinyl eps that are accompanied by a handmade, signed and individualized screen print. the three eps were set up as an experiment. each of the records is guided by a word that could be described as a phantasmagoria, a delusion of the 20th century – like a metaphor that is concerned not only with its immediate meaning, but with an implication more emotional, more irrational, telling something about the mindset of the not so distant past.
up first on the ep comes splendid -copper-. a pure 909 detroit funky work out and a dancefloor-filler at its best. with his name kind of a bow to the originators and the vinyl history. waiting for the drop business. the second tune -memories- is harder and darker. it comes with a huge atmosphere. you can see a dark room with just a strobe and fog in front of you. last one is the title track -akira-. its more experimental with a broken beat and a vibe which feels like a walk through chernobyl. one for the heads.
danish djuma soundsystem teams up with italian aki bergen and they get showered in spoken poetry by none other than south african lazarusman.the reciepe is already there and looking good, but even better.it sounds good too. 2 different versions from 2 great producers. aki bergens version is very driving, electronic and suitable for the primetime and late night hours. djuma soundsystem serves the more organic and deep version for the warm up hours and small intense clubs.
21.12.2016 repress ... it s been a busy 3 years since danny berman aka red rack em released on his own bergerac imprint. since then he s toured relentlessly, released a whole album of live music based disco/punk funk for sonar kollektiv as hot coins, managed to completely update his biggest track in love again to make it a hit the second time around plus released spaced out, wonky party smashers on wolf music, phonica, city fly and telefonplan. while all this was going on bergerac was largely on ice but now berman is turning his energy back to the label with a vengeance.
dj support: dixon, ame, hunee, detroit swindle, jimpster, inkswel, medlar, mad mats, doc daneeka, kito jempere, ron basejam ...
and the true secret of their value is the sobriety, the austerity, of the living space they inhabit. it means that they do not simply occupy, visibly, the space they belong in, but have the scope to perform a variety of unforeseen functions which enables them constantly to surprise us anew. this is what makes them precious and elevates them above the level of a common object.« walter benjamin, spain 1932 grischa lichtenbergers new release »spielraum« is the first of three vinyl eps to thematically accompany the 2-part album »la demeure, il y a péril en la demeure«. on »spielraum«, lichtenberger presents the elements introduced on the preceding album in a different context, but without defining them too precisely and breaking them down to only one dimension.
MONTE VERITA EP (INCL. TOULOUSE LOW TRAX & FLAVIEN BERGER REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK22.07.15
next up on les disques de la mort, and we playing with all the preconceptions, once more. now we are slowing things down, and speeding them up. the word is elastic . we are back with our most psychedelic release to date and you are the first to be injected. rodion & mammarella are known for their strange hybrid of slow burning electronic disco but they have been on the mountain of truth. they saw the light. they flew off. on the remix duties toulouse low trax provides the dusseldorf angel dust to suspend you in time and space and flavien berger, the new wunder french kid, is on the opiate shuffle.
therefore their latest release on kittball is one that will fall on thousands of eager ears, particularly as each track is produced in collaboration with three of the label s favourite artists. in the shadows is the first on the release, a track created alongside ante perry that contains a murky bassline, funky guitar plucking, and fluttering vocals - a peak time party number. in reliquia the duo team up with paji for a gloomy production comprising sweeping synths, melodic keys, and a distorted spoken sample. it is a deep and atmospheric affair that will make for some spine-tingling moments on any dancefloor. tying up the release is a collaboration with in.deed titled highness , a poignant cut complete with sultry synths, elegant chords, and rich low-ends, until subtle keys trail off concluding a fresh and innovative release.
for nearly two decades, ploink has promoted techno nights around norway, presenting local talent as well as some of the biggest acts from around the world. we just really like techno. our definition of the genre is fairly wide though, constantly evolving, which we have attempted to reflect in this our first release, compiling four very different tracks by local producers from our hometown of bergen. setting up a label branch has for years been a burried, old plan. to us, techno parties, no matter how unique and brilliantly planned, have such a short lifespan, and as such it feels good to finally start releasing something that can get a life of its own, perhaps grow into something entirely different.
nice price deal !!! philipp quehenberger s music has existed as a consistent strain amongst the austrian underground for the last 15 years. his output is a cracking combination of dance floor zeal and deep disco disorientation. a perpetually rotating sphere which blends genres whilst bending the body and mind. quehenbergers sweaty cerebrum is significantly showcased on his second full length for editions mego.
industrial copera (1992-2013), one of the most important techno clubs in spain, begins its new project as a record label focused on techno/ electro/ new wave/ experimental music. in this first release junior and alvasro sanchez (ax2) suggest two original techno tracks with the collaboration of the artists miki craven, alexander kowalski and mario berger as mixers.
tube & bergers success has been ubiquitous in recent years with hits such as imprints of pleasure and come on now (set it off). now a year and a half after its release the track has been passed on to a handful of kittball favourites to shape it into their own.
a new essen / berlin label dedicated to techno and house. grokenberger wants to represent a common soul, a familiar disposition to shape and personify its dedication to quality. the result will be made tangible to you on vinyl.
after the great response on his last im a gin ep, we couldnt wait to get another betoko release here at off luckily we didnt have to wait too long for it. mexican man of the moment delivers supersonic, a robotic-vocal infused deep funk monster with his trademark bassline groove

the german combo-star have worked for many months exclusively in this ep, trying to get the right inspiration. the got it. in my dip and pleasure of pleasure keep the line drawn from tube & berger on 2012: emotive beats for the dancefloor. two well planned music melodic masterpieces which will get tons of plays in 2013.
