flip the record over and you’ve got yourself some heavy chillers. dreams is a really dreamy (!) piece of work that is guaranteed to leave you relaxed. friend of tessellate seb wildblood steps up next to do what he does best and provide a lovely remix of the og. finally we close things off with deeptrak, which as the name suggests is a deep track.

after releasing on george fitzgerald s manmakemusic label and hosting parties featuring djs such as avalon emerson, breach, christian loffler, dauwd, frits wentink, locked groove, tom demac and xxxy, asa 808 and his toys friends are dropping the first 12 inch on their own label. this young club collective is all about bringing friends of forward-thinking electronic music together and supporting young boundary-pushing electronic artists. on their first vinyl release, the classically trained musician and producer asa 808 (aka hasta la otra mexico!) delivers three heavy, melodic and ominous techno cuts.
tetsumasa’s debut ep “asa” on his own saidan label. solid sounds between savage broken rhythms somehow feels urban, flat and texturally dry. various sound components such as dub, noise, bass music and ambient are mixed within and thus creating unique sound world. it is expectable from his irregular beats that one of his music roots is abstract hip hop. “asa ep” has a remix from mogano, the owner of berlin label arboretum. tetsumasa doesn’t need a concept. this is his own sound pieces you can experience a variety of sensations.
pressing on grey marbled vinyl.
asa moto are two mysterious producers from belgium who have been honing their sound at deewee for a number of months, delivering with their first release two futuristic pieces for the slowed down dance floor.
berlin resident and general man-about-town, asa 808 has run parties supporting underground house and techno all over the city for years whilst simultaneously learning his craft as a producer and dj. ignorance, attachment and bad karma all beautifully capture the patience, melodic intricacy and raw functionality which characterises the finest dance music coming from this great city.
we once again welcome back diskjokke to the motherpupp after a succesful run of releases on smalltown supersound and kindisch. 2008 was a hectic year for joachim, putting together his live band, doing remixes for metronomy, foals and lykke li to name a few and spreading melodic, trance-inducing feelgood disko gospel around the world. asa nisi masa has been causing much mayhem the last 12 months even causing girls to offer me services i wont mention here...wibbly wobbly arpeggios massaging your buttocks...very very rude indeed as already showcased on the full pupp/greatest tits compilation, >cearadactylus< is definitely a different kind of beast. slow and chugging along at a tempo even fit for dinosaurs
forro in the dark makes people dance like they forgot they could. they sweat, stomp, roll their eyes into the backs of their heads and dont stop for hours. for the past four years, they ve packed their home base and birthplace at nublu well beyond capacity every wednesday night. when a band makes you feel like this, you keep coming back. on this follow up to their debut 12 inch with seu jorge, forro in the dark present three versions of their acclaimed single with david byrne, asa branca. aside from the original, organic, feel good track, the real tuesday welds clerkenwell cowboy lends an open, airy version that could find a home in a classic, french cabaret as easily as it could in the early hours of a dancefloor. dublex incs mix is a masterfully done, downtempo rework with a full jazz band and dubbed out vocals. and as an added bonus, theres a bouncy dublex and forro collaboration called kidon kibom energized dubbed out grooves that ll get anyone to the dancefloor
supreme downbeat coolness on fasaan. after a two year hiatus, fasaan returns with an ep from the local one-man-band that is inre kretsen grupp. gems of carefully melted down new wave, dub, aor and boogie sit confidently together on this ep that makes the debut of keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist martin blomberg.
