you re alone and you close your eyes. don’t imagine figures of light. make the darkness conscious. it becomes deeper. not eyelids anymore. and then something is around you. but you can’t open your eyes. you’re deep inside them. merge into oneness. not bright above not dark below. something with has no echo. waves and motion. not space and time. if a tree falls in a forest where no one is listening. does it make a sound? there are no signs in the snow. why this dream of something cold? the world is blue at its edges. the colour of that which can never be possessed. blue flames. deep ice. twilight. how do you observe yourself without knowing that you’re looking? the other side of your face. why don’t you let the gap be a gap? i was afraid there was too much space. when you stop focusing the image appears. everything seen at once. turn yourself into a point to get behind the surface. a messenger between two worlds. the hidden meaning behind alchemy: to be born again. you’re not born into this world but out of it. travel by heat. words are too slow. sound knows how to get around edges. wiser than light.
persian ahu karimi is a berlin resident. he began his musical exploits in a punk band in tehran but time and space and inertia have distilled his music into a rare spiritual essence. with a delicacy and evanescence like memory. the five tracks here have a gauze like quality.
paul white produced creepy lushness from ahu (dolly / flying lotus). backed with a typically fantastic remix from dimlite (now again) ....long tipped as a vocalist to watch. ahu steps softly from the shadows of her lauded guest appearances to deliver to:love.
as a contrasting follow-up to our first single from rooteo & mahura’s metta album. the second single on made in green records keeps the format intact with entirely different results. deadbeat’s remix on part one was both respectful and subtly transformative. on part two. new york’s upcoming max mcferren. whose busy 2015 included eps on ultimate hits. allergy season. and 1080p. brings us a startling reinterpretation of album closer harmal very much in keeping with the vein of raw. aggressive house coming from brooklyn since that scene’s resurgence. the original version of harmal finishes the album in fine style. blending tablas. celestial electronics. and short melodica phrases that gradually swell with layers of vocal samples and orchestal pads before reaching a climax and slowly dying away in gradually receding layers of ambient electronics. mcferren’s remix leads off with only a bare framework of techno percussion. the entry of a sampled section of melody from the original signals a rapid transition to more abrasive territory. with sheets of metallic noise slashing through the high end. short vocal syllables stuttering. and an insistent bass pulse building up and breaking down with at least one element constantly in motion.
for the first single from rooteo & mahura’s mett album and our second release on made in green records. we present the standout sincrotune. backed with a heavier interpretation of dub techno mastermind and legend deadbeat. one of the album’s most memorable and experimental pieces. sincrotune transports tinges of the eastern influences from the full-length into a more exploratory mindset. ricocheting bells and detuned. bending string samples moving through layers of alien ambiance and a steady. heavy bass pulse at dancefloor tempo pushing it forward forcefully.

is kerowacks first follow-up single their acclaimed ep. the first ep. a is a heavy drum and electro synth four. it is partly a sentimental track. communing with one hand with the 90s warehouse techno revival. yet with the other hand. forging forward in the evolution of electrohaus. sacrificing nothing and tripping no cliche. fc kahuna lead the back-side of this release with a live rock acid disco reinterpretation. conjuring up an entirely different waking dream. untamed yet methodical. acoustic. analog. whacked out yet perfectly in control as fc kahuna always is.
killahurtz is made up of mick park of tilt fame and leigh kenny aka kenny shifter. here with maria nayler they deliver the totally summer sounding 21st century lover. the track itself sounds on paper to be crazy. electro basslines and grooves meets housey synths meets strummy acoustic guitars. however. thrown in marias voice to the mix and a hooky vocal you have all the makings of an ibiza summer smash

hemingway s debut ep on cosmic resonance records is a musical memoir. the sounds you’ll hear are drawn from projects created as far back as 2011 and as recently as 2017. the music has evolved over the years. from yacht-funk playfulness to the exploration of cosmic jazz. one constant throughout. though. has been a reverence and love for the dance floor and dance music culture. to bring this broad spectrum of musical creativity together. hemingway enlisted the help of his longtime friend (and now label-mate). chris evans. to weave improvised guitar unicorns (guitarnicorns) throughout. the result is an album that fuses jazz. funk. disco. balearica. pysch-rock and amazonian spirituality into a cosmically resonant vibe.
