apodiktische gewissheit ist der titel eines audiovisuellen kooperationsprojektes zwischen dem in berlin lebenden künstler gerhard mantz und wolfgang voigt. das projekt basiert auf einer digitalen videoarbeit von gerhard mantz. konstant fliessende geometrische formen und motive bewegen sich in gleichmässigem fluss um einen festen mittelpunkt auf den betrachter zu. ein hypnotischer sog-effekt von verführerischer schönheit entsteht, dem man sich nicht entziehen kann oder will. wolfgang voigt hat die digitale Ästhetik und den maschinellen flow der bilder aufgegriffen und ihnen eine musikalische entsprechung gegeben. das ergebnis ist eine gelungene verschmelzung von bildern und musik, die mit minimaler bewegung maximale intensität erzeugt. ein gefühl der gleichzeitigkeit von loophafter kontinuität und stetem schub nach vorn, von immer gleich und immer anders, von anfangs- und endlosigkeit entsteht. die vorliegende vinyl veröffentlichung ist teil der audiovisuellen kunstinstallation apodiktische gewissheit, die in zusammenarbeit mit der kölner kunstgalerie hammelehle und ahrens in der gertruden kirche in köln am freitag, den 04.11.2016 eröffnet wird.

peter michael hamel emerged from the 70s krautrock scene dreaming of “the blue flower growing between the milestones on the road to a future world-music”. a truly visionary artist who worked and studied with john cage, morton feldman and terry riley, his 1980 colours of time lp - an epic, sprawling, 22-minute saga - was hailed by the guardian’s rob fitzpatrick as “an absolute masterpiece of skull-bursting, synth-led ambient minimalism”. thirty six years on, astral industries reinterpret hamel s original vision with remixes from two contemporary heavyweights - wolfgang voigt and rod modell (aka deepchord). each expansive interpretation invites you to step outside of reality and into an alternative imagination of hamel s future world, spiralling into the colours and slowly out of time itself. original artwork by theo ellsworth and a massive thanks to peter michael hamel & eckart rahn.

aauf den beatlosen rückverzauberung 6.1 und 6.2 werden klänge und strukturen auf so bizarr-abstrakte weise (rück)verzaubert, dass es schwer fällt einen vergleich zu anderen werken aus voigts katalog zu ziehen. durch seine ihm so eigene art der dekonstruktion/reduktion auf das wesentliche/essentielle erscheinen irgendwie vertraute klänge wie neu. voigt nennt das entdeutung. er stellt dadurch die klassischen, narrativen erzähl/kompositionsstrukturen in frage und entzieht ihnen die form bis ein neues land betreten ist. magazine fühlt sich geehrt, diese essentielle platte veröffentlichen zu können

dj koze hat es sich nicht nehmen lassen das 2008er klaviertechnokunststuueck auf seine unvergleichbare art zum wahren tanzflaechen- fu&#776,,,ller zu remixen. dabei ist es ihm gelungen, die entscheidenden original klavierpassagen perfekt zu integrieren.

profan (...remember wolfgang voigts abstract techno label from the 1990s) is back from the future, and again complicates the situation. like his earlier projects, the brand new sog (strictly limited to 400 copies) release combines seemingly familiar and extremely unfamiliar signs, and in the most unusual way bends them around the utterly familiar bass drum. the result is a conspiracy of four sound frescos of peculiar beauty, and indeed they deserve the title abweichung (engl. deviance) - named after voigts painting featured on the cover. this is minimal art techno that raises questions.
profan 32 will be released before profan 31which will be released a bit later. yet both are heralds of the art publication/double cd compilation: wolfang voigt – werkschau to be released in spring 2010.

further to motor city drum ensembles dj kicks compilation, his exclusive single l.o.v.e. has been reworked by the young detroit prodigy kyle hall, the painter and music creator wolfgang voigt and an excellent remix by smallpeople. kyle has been highly influenced and captivated by the underground deep house sound of detroit. inspired by artists such as theo parrish, mike huckaby, rick wade, 3 chairs, kdj and omar s, who believe their music has a certain feeling of the advant garde and liberation from the so-called rules people place upon dance music. kyle took that principle of their music and applied it to music that he was trying to create. wolfgang voigt is known for his numerous, nearly inexhaustible list of one-off projects and aliases. of these, his best known is arguably >gas< a project that saw the marriage of ambient music and 4/4 techno. his remix of motor citys l.o.v.e shows his minimalistic approach to music he has been famed for worldwide. smallpeople are julius steinhoff & just von ahlefeld aka dionne. smallpeople are focused on a wider range of music and can be diverse- between deep house, detroit techno and some chicago flavours but always within the balance of atmospheric warmth and club suitability bringing yet another perfect addition to this remix package. watch out for more big tunes from smallpeople in the near future
