after an amazing 2016 year remixing legend mobys porcelain for drumcode, releasing on labels like soma, drumcode (with his phoenix as well), kaputt ltd, planet rhythm, tip top, label owner luca agnelli is back on his own etruria beat. this new release contains 2 original cuts and 2 remixes by amazing artists abstract division and yotam avni. original tracks metamorphosis and chaos are very powerful techno tunes, filled with hypnotic looped chords, melodic synth stabs on solid beats and drops. dynamic reflections owner abstract division revisited metamorphosis in a very mental trippy way, adding a dutch raw and dark touch to the title. after a few releases on innervisions, stroboscopic artefact, yotam avni transformed metamorphosis into a pumping groovy track that can destroy any dancefloor. play it loud!

for the first time in too long, influential visionquest founder, dj and producer shaun reeves is back with a new ep. this one - the label’s 50th, no less - comes in collaboration with acclaimed italian house producer tuccillo, features two essential new tracks and comes with a fantastic remix by dorian paic. shaun has released on the likes of crosstown, wolf + lamb and catwash and has worked with art department and dj w!ld, but here it is well informed house man and 2020 vision and holic trax associate tuccillo that is his musical paring partner. together the pair really hit it off with some truly infectious club tracks.

the globally trendsetting house and techno family that is visionquest now turns to a new pairing of sonny fodera & gene farris for their debut ep on the label. entitled ‘we work it’, the two-track affair comes with a remix by visionquest man lee curtiss. australian sonny fodera has been at the sharp end of the dance music scene for years now, clocking up huge hits both solo and with green velvet aka cajmere, releasing albums such as afterparties & aeroplanes and appearing on cajual, defected, suara and many more top labels. gene farris, of course, is a chicago house legend who has been active since the nineties, runs his own farris wheel label and has released close to one hundred definitive eps on relief, soma and many others. up first, ‘we work it’ is a lithe ritual of house funk with bent synths and slick mid tempo drums. a spoken word vocal snippet muses on the intake of various substances and the drums roll on infectiously below. it’s sure to be a standout anthem in the months to come given that vocal line and the spiritualness of the keys all around only adds to the effect. the first remix comes from lee curtiss. this one is a much quicker and more peak time bit of tech house with textured, dynamic bass and plenty of drum fills. it’s an involved, more cosmic and tense take on the original, that will build great pressure on the dance floor. all in all this is another on point package from visionquest that will get played far and wide

lewis boardman is an emerging talent in the underground house scene, and his >mist< ep is his debut release. lewis has been learning his craft through a dj residency at liverpools uber session, circus, alongside resident yousef, whom lewis remixed for recently on the renaissance label.
lewis presents an ep of raw, back to basics, tribal house tracks, big on the groove yet keeping it interesting with some choice samples and playful automation and arrangement. remixes come from the unstoppable chris lattner (fear of flying / moon harbour) and nrks nick harris.

producer and boss of mathematics records, jamal moss a.k.a hieroglyphic being is a one-off musical explorer. jamals music takes cues from the ebm and house that played a huge part in the city s musical underground in the late eighties and early nineties, notably ron hardy and adonis, but also industrial, avant-jazz and noise. his tireless schedule of rough low-key releases over the last 12 years and his intense, very physical, psychedelic music, have made him a key exponent or maybe even a pioneer of what has recently come to be named outsider house, although he prefers the more sun-ra like descriptors of rhythmic cubism and cosmic be-bop.

its been a big year for breach, a.k.a. ben westbeech. his track jack hasnt just blown up on danceoors across the globe: its laid waste to them. in the process, jack got to number 9 in the uk charts. not bad considering westbeech has always seen breach as an underground thing.
