tim green is back with another brace of high impact club tunes of the sort that have made him one of the most in demand producers of the day. whether serving up rolling techno treats for cocoon, essential mixes for the body language series on get physical or laying down compelling club sets in the dj booth, brit tim green is unstoppable right now. here he steps up to the get weird imprint with two more tantalising cuts that show just how broad and brilliant an artist he is. stirring opener ‘for a memory’ is eleven minutes of wordless and intoxicating female vocals, slick rubbery drums and plunging bass. the overall effect is hypnotic, rolling and perfectly groovy, and it will no doubt have whole dancefloors locked under its spell. some little melodic explosions, sweeping filters and luscious pads all help add a real air of grace to proceedings that mark it out as another classic from green. ‘for a distant memory’ is a subtle but noteworthy reworking of the same cut. in this one, the drums are less direct and more stripped back, there is a focus on the angelic, glowing pads and on spine tingling slices of synth that are reflective and emotive as they drop in and out. it is a perfectly trance inducing, heart warming cut that the likes of lee burridge at his all day i dream parties, or various djs playing on a sun kissed terrace around the globe, will all lap right up. these are two more essential tracks from the ever on point tim green.

as we move into a new year, again start the cogs of labels and artists around the world, this is certainly the case for disc over music as they bring us their first release of 2015. high off the back of exquisite releases in 2014 from luca lozano & mr. ho and nicson, disc over’s first installment of 2015 comes from label head tim green - a three track ep bursting with two classic tg productions and grooves which is then given another dimension with a remix from the talented german born producer borrowed identity. the ep kicks off with the aptly named ‘scar’ - a track which when heard, truly makes it mark. it sets the tone for the rest of the ep with it’s prominent bassline and haunting howls whilst dreamlike keys bounce and float above. track two, ‘we thought’ is taken down a gear but keeps all of the groove built from ‘scar’. it begins with a simple trademark tg bassline and is allied with light and free singular keys. the listener is then joined by vocals which along with the previous elements take you on a real trip. borrowed identity speeds things up right away with his remix of ‘we thought’. the track is morphed into a dancefloor groove with the comforting vocals darkened, cut and reworked on top of an unpredictable and fluctuating bassline. managing to keep the identity of tim’s original the track becomes something completely different and certainly makes you feel you want to take the trip

25-year-old tim green from the south of england is well-known to the attentive observer of the electronic dance music scene: besides releases on get physical, trapez and four:twenty recordings, he also gained a lot of attention with his contributions to the third cocoon 10 inch vinyl (lone rider) and the cocoon compilation i (exercise). on his debut ep, green presents the whole stylistic bandwidth that modern floorfillers can have. for almost ten minutes, >lemon< oscillates between a full frontal percussion assault, fragmented deep house vocals and detroit-influenced harmonies, consequently setting the signs to >summer<. the first track on the flipside, >jimmy rave up<, is a dark and pushing runner that impressively proves greens wealth of variants once again. the trio is completed by >dodjo<, a track that forms a more than pleasing intersection between tropic calypso sounds and machine-like strictness - an unforgettable track that will echo long after the year 2011, promised!

yo everyone !!! ten years ago (an eternity nowadays) we put out the first cassius track ever. it was called >cassius 99< and it was the first single from our debut album. 1999?.it was also one of our biggest hits. its ten years later now and knowing we have our own label and own our back catalogue we absolutely couldnt resist putting it out again as some kind of >10th anniversary release<. resistance to remix it was weak so we remastered the original and asked producers we really appreciated to give it a go and do their own version of this oldie/goldie.

the united kingdom and new zealand unite on the latest get digital release, as tim green and emerson todd team up for two tracks of trendy tech-house. both of these guys had a splendid 2009. tim with his releases on dirtybird and emerson providing a contribution to get digital, at the end of last summer. their initial collaboration came in the form of exercise, which popped up on a compilation from sven väths admired cocoon label. make meis driven by crisp and tight beats that one would expect from these two producers, before tumbling into a 1920s speakeasy jazz drum solo. a flurry of vocals shoo off the drummers as the beats takeover again with an intensified energy. after all that dancing, you will surely need some foot treatment. that is where nail clippertakes over. a sonic pedicure, to easy your tired toes? not quite

part three of the cocoon 10inch series is all about the modern british techno scene, and the first hypnotic exclamation mark is set by yousef from liverpool. after collaborations with carl cox and x-press 2, >come home< - which can also be found on sven väths current ibiza review >the sound of the tenth season< - seems to become one of the most important tracks of the winter season 2009/2010: with a steadily rising crescendo, yousef is weaving around a >strings-meet-piano< motive with massive reverb that gives the tribal beats a deeper meaning and thus will be enchanting the clubs. the flip side belongs to london-based dj and producer tim green. he is releasing on labels such as four twenty, sci+tec and trapez for more than three years now and his co-production with emerson todd, >exercise<, even made it to cocoon compilation i. >lone time< lives on metal-like percussions that are loaded with adrenaline and once more prove the fact that modern techno cant go without tribal elements

tim green werden einige kennen von seinen platten auf dem us label dirty bird. tim ist ein enormes talent und schafft es hier mit seinem a-seiten stück >mr dry< die gefühle hochzukochen. >mr dry< ist eines dieser stücke das kindliche züge in uns in erinnerung ruft und uns gefallen daran finden lässt, mal richtig aus der haut zu gehen und die arme hochzuwerfen. das hört und fühlt man gerne... depression raus aus dem alltag und rein in die techno welt. spätestens wenn die runtergepitchte stimme von tim green kommt, geht eh nichts mehr. wie der man das mit einfachsten mittel bewirkt, dass ist wahre kunst. man merkt auch bei diesem track, tim hat noch viel tricks auf lager für die zukunft. das rückseiten stück >glow worm< ist so etwas wie der kleine bruder der a-seite. hier wird der ball flachgehalten, die stimmung ist eher dark und die stimme haucht etwas ins mikrophon. das geschieht alles mit einer gewissen unterkühlten art die auch sexy ist. schritt für schritt zieht die dramatik an und das stück und wird immer funkiger...
