stamp records delve into the past for their next release, giving a new lease of life to one of swayzak s least characteristic and most sought-after tracks. swayzak are true heroes of the uk underground, having clocked numerous seminal releases in the late 90 s and early 00 s straddling the grey area between house and techno. disco dub plate volume 2 - originally out in 2000 - was an obvious anomaly in the duo s discography, that has managed to forge a path of its own amongst a completely different crowd to swayzak s usual disciples. one cut from that ep, stronger love , is a carefully arranged marriage between a certain pair of quintessential aor darlings and the soul voice of the 80 s. can we be more specific? no can do...it shouldn t really work, but somehow it does! it s been caned by many a balearic dj over the years, including mark seven who included it in his mythical originals compilation, where it holds its ground amongst other balearic heavyweights. as an added bonus for this 2016 edition we re treated to two brand new mixes ! frank agrario teases in bits of the original making for his chunkier version that is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, while brun (1/2 of swayzak) delivers a bang up-to-date dub that keeps its elements to the bare minimum, building into a deep hypnotic house chugger.

repress 2016 - the king of afrobeat is reinterpreted by the uks lodger. true sunshine music just in time for summer! for the third in the stamp series, we turn our attention to west-africa and the black president himself. englands lodger has crafted two superb reinterpretations that are part edit, part remix and all parts dancefloor dynamite. odoo and afro cuts may be instantly recognisable yet they are cunningly extended, subtly tweaked in all the right places and most importantly retaining the source materials core, that inimitable nigerian funk. limited vinyl pressing - hand stamped.

stamp s back with jascha hagen paying homage to west africa s afrobeat pioneer & a certain female jazz instrumentalist from the famed blue note catalogue. the leipzig based producer first came to the attention of the label after he dropped the outstanding pan that shit out ep on manna all night. here the open minded producer showcases a different side to his production style with two surefire edits that will work wonders wherever they re played. pitched down and spaced out, soldier on the a side is an edit of a politically charged nigerian anthem. this slow burner keeps you locked in with instantly recognisable keys, subtle guitar licks and a rolling bass line that will even make the stiffest necks nod in solidarity. harlem takes you back to a sun-soaked day with this classic 1970s nyc soul anthem dedicated to the road that loops around the north tip of manhattan. jascha takes the jazz-funk anthem and adds extra instrumentation to create a subtle 2015 update...

kicking things off on the a side is herbie s jam , an effortlessly cool house edit of the legendary jazz pioneer that features an infectious piano loop, live drums and a funky bassline which we re sure is going to become a staple at day time parties and sunset sets this summer. there s also an incredibly smooth and soulful trumpet sample to complete the jam and tie everything together. on the flip you ll find a more up beat and peak time affair called oliver that keeps the same jam session vibe as on the a side, but this time employs sultry organ keys, breezy guitar licks, and a truly groovy saxophone contribution that makes you just want to get up and move. just as with their previous releases, this is a hand stamped, limited, 12- that won t be around for long.

vin sol & matrixxman return with their second double-header of remixes of one of the most distinctive voices in modern music, revisiting two of the hallowed songstress classics from the 80s. first up is the beautiful *never thought* which has been given the remix treatment many times before due to the accapella being on the original 12 inch. here vs & m add early 90s house flourishes - warm pads, deep chords and the original vocal seeping in and out of the mix, whilst elements slowly start to build up for what is a pretty ecstatic house rework of a classic. simple and effective. fans of innervisions wont be disappointed! on the flip, *love is stronger* is a mellower take on one of her signature hits. sticking to a cool 110 bpm tempo, it has got a bubbly, woozy late sunday afternoon vibe emanating from the first 4 bars. another solid rework from the vin sol & matrixxman camp!
