tiefschwarz beckon you to dominate my sensation with their latest single on the boys own souvenir. and with its booty-shaking, bass-bumpin funky house vibe, its ripe for the plucking on dancefloors across the world. the title track kicks things off with a dual attack of bass and hi-hat, urging us into its insistent groove. then it takes a firmer hold with its sultry vocals, shaking us around a bit in the process. with the carnivalesque atmosphere of seamy summers in rio, we welcome a funky percussive workout into the mix while a synthline squiggles around us. the breaks saucy vocal instructs us to allow entry into our very own adventure, percussion building to peak levels. lost in the moment, none can resist this kick, and bodies are lost in a dizzying swirl. b-sides include an energetic reimagining from the labels very own frankfurters, chris wood and meat, fresh from their recent smash triple s ep on souvenir and pascal feos & frank leicher manage to dial up the sleaze quotient, murking out the bassline and distorting the vocal.

ruede hagelstein wants it all, and not just that jazz. the berlin producer, known for his productions that straddle the boundary between house on techno, released on labels like souvenir and upon you records, will release his debut album soft pack together with his band, the noblettes on november 18, 2011. a priori is the first track on the indie-electronic lp, and cannot claim itself free from jazz influences. with piano, a horn section, and brushed snares, the track swings with the best of them. since ruedes vocals also require something a little more dancefloor-friendly, this digital appetizer will be served up with a remix from the man himself. the vinyl will follow with remixes from guillaume & the coutu dumonts, noir and tiefschwarz.

zeitlos, a german word meaning timeless is one way to describe chris wood & meats new ep, triple s. this is house of a different flavor, pulling influences from freestyle jazz and funk. we find ourselves late in the night. we enter triple s, a smoky cool atmosphere, relaxed and ready. light percussion leads us into the back, where a lone wandering bass line takes the stage. the simmer of hi hats and trample of toms usher in the kicks. chugging along, a single jazz flute, and sassy women punch through the fog. the strings rise and the bass sinks into the cellar. downplayed with style and elegance, triple s is the perfect track for half past midnight, opening the gates and pouring your body on to the dancefloor.

true to form, souvenir are back with a snappy summertime release perfectly hinged & ready for sweeping the dancefloors. souvenir 036 various artists features lewis boardman & maher daniel blending their sounds, and converging on this ep for some magnificent effects. the a side starts out with daniel - he is a new, but solid name amongst the techno-gambit, having released on labels such as get physical & bedrock, as well as on souvenir. while his remix workings of >rumblefish< earned him a 2 1/2 month long-spot as number one on the techno charts. with >here and now< with dark, driving techno that sounds like its been made inside of a blazing house-fire. burning & singed, the the layers fall heavy upon one another - with a penetrating dancefloor deep-ness to the bass. next up, >icaros< on the inside a track…spins a dark & deep nighttime soundscape, deep into the depths of a jungle somewhere. a distant & hollow vocal of a tribesman hums hauntingly in the distance, with a severe & driving bassline to make you run like a scared little raver deep into the jungle. on the b side, boardman takes over, one of the uks newest talents - recently remixing for nina kraviz & yousef - with >tranquilizer,< on b2 is quite a minimal retreat…with some intergalactic space-fight sounds thrown into the mix, alongside the rolling bass, and chug-chugging. b2 enters the title track, >the broken is beautiful.< a nice, chugging bass-line meets a ethereal chopped up vocal, carefully flowing in & out of the bass-line….to meet up strong midway thru the breakdown
