aqueous, enormous, timeous with waiting alpine, senking offers ous two deep water metabolisms. he cuts through slowly shifting masses with his unique resonance testing and precisely stacked sound waves, making underwater mountain ranges shake and disperse into floating pieces. cologne-based musician and artist senking had his debut on karaoke kalk in 1995, since then he has released several records on raster-noton, among others. his productions explore the depths of electronic music, creating an athmosphere of being 100 miles below sea level.
with >dazed<, senking continues his exploration of the abysses of sound to create dark and gloomy atmospheres. the slow beats of the two tracks are accompanied by tender, harmonic melodies, but broken by nervous, unsteady tones which seem to be a warning against hidden dangers. the first track >the dance hall walk< also features a vocal sample by micheal cramm - a text which reflects the nervousness and excitement in anticipation of some thrilling things to come. like >tweek<, senkings last ep, >dazed< is not only concerned with the depths of sound, but also with the depths of the human psyche, where there is no escape other than music itself.
since the last senking album >pong< (r-n122) was a great success in 2010 and sold out quickly raster-noton swiftly asked for a follow-up of massels sound cosmos. on >tweek< senking again reveals his sense of cineastic atmospheres and dark abysmal depths of sound, which are subordinate to extremely slow choky basses and delayed beats. references to dubstep are rather the result of testing the outlying areas of the frequency spectrum than a direct relation to the genre. nevertheless it seemed very obvious to release senkings sound on 12inch vinyl to follow the footsteps of >plasticstar< (r-n081) and >pruitt igoe< (r-n124), >tweek< is meant to be a dj-tool for a club environment. >tweek< refers to a character of the well known us series >southpark<, who plays with feelings of incertitude and nervous decease. the album documents the eagerness to experiment and indicates astonishing ideas shining through the dark substance. the tracks even reveal cheerful and comical features.

CAPSIZE RECOVERY (CD)
CD
30.09.13
capsize recovery takes the listener on a ride through a very dark universe of gloomy sounds and atmospheres. the eight rather longish tracks of the album are characterized by senkings epic signature sounds - creepy hovering bass lines, clean and slowed down drums, paired with oscillating and sometimes fierce synth melodies and shots. with his extremely deep and dubby arrangements that explore the depths and abysses of bass heavy music, he again is able to create soundscapes that convey a subtle sense of unease or even fear, as if they were the soundtrack to a mysterious and disturbing film
