we proceed with ‘selectors assemble volume three’. the latest release from the coop presents label headed by ig culture and alex phountzi, and the latest instalment of eps featuring an array of artists, focusing on the wealth of talent that exists within the london bruk scene and beyond, a continuation of the sonic spirit brought to life by the legendary west london movement. selectors assemble is an ever-growing family - this six-track selection seeks to introduce more of the collective to the masses, and bring further heat from some of the squad already established. call it what you will genre-wise, this ep sweeps styles, and shamelessly laces up another assortment of certified dancefloor fire. the previous two volumes were supported by a wide-ranging squad of djs in recent times, including toddla t, mr. scruff, benji b, josey rebelle, alex nut, shy one, marc mac, lefto, kev beadle, nick luscombe, simbad, thristian, stuart patterson, bradley zero & mr thing, to name a few

lena willikens is the kind of artist whos only capable of following one path her own. in many ways, shes the archetypal selector, an unpredictable dj who often eschews all notions of genre in favor of what she describes as different temperatures, different time zones, different moods and a healthy portion of chaos. although her methods have certainly proven effective on the dancefloor, willikens also refuses to be bound by its traditional limitations.

brand new year, brand new imprint. coop presents is an all-new record label, founded by ig culture and alex phountzi, set to focus on the depth and wealth of talent that exists within the london bruk movement and beyond, a project which they consider to be a continuation in the same spirit of the legendary coop movement. last summer, the coop presents crew released an ep via first word records entitled selectors assemble . this was the first collective offering from a foundation comprised of uk dance music pioneers and nowadays bruk soldiers, navigating in & around the world of broken beat and beyond over the last two decades to the present day. reinvigorated by recent boiler room sessions, the crew proceeded with more parties, more radio shows, and gained access to an unlimited pool of all-new sounds. the squad were primed and ready to move forwards from the famed days of the plastic people dances, and further explore the evolution of their sound.

the dekmantel selectors compilation series is set to continue with a highly anticipated edition curated by joy orbison. first announced in 2015 when the selectors project was unveiled, the fourth compilation in the series finds the singular uk talent curating a sort of tribute to his home country and its rich musical history.

born marco sterk, he certainly doesnt come from a standard dj background. a former skate rat who grew up loving american post-hardcore and 90s hip-hop as much as early warp records, hes been affiliated over the years with amsterdam institutions such as rush hour, red light records (where you ll find him most weekdays!) and, of course, dekmantel itself. still, thers no question that hes always followed his own path, even during the years that playing his favorite records meant that he was occasionally clearing dancefloors
