we are happy to welcome two new artists to rose records on our first real split record. rose 12 brings two pieces from chassé. the duo from belgium adds round bass and piano to send two deep and warm tracks into the game. on the other side, which is rose 13, you find two more crazy tracks which unite funky vocals with guitars – both from gledd a recent nice and surprising discovery for us from italy. we feel that the combination of both sides represent rose perfectly – a deep and funky mix.

steffen & stefan aka hanne & lore met 10 years ago at an event in their hometown herford and started to spend studio time together. soon after, the song “an der waterkant”, released by super flu’s label monaberry, became their breakthrough as a producing duo. it was the kickoff to a journey of countless memorable parties, festivals and after hours that created music released on many different labels along the way. for the 10 year anniversary, they asked 10 amazing friends and colleagues to reinterpret one of the tracks which developed into a wonderful collection of finest dance music by the likes of andhim, tube & berger, schories, glitz, zds, aka aka, lexer, david jach, ole biege and dompe. the tape release includes a download code.

julien sandre and mennie return under their jarau guise this january with the saturn system ep, set for release via visionquests special edition sub-label. julien sandre and mennie return under their jarau guise this january with the saturn system ep, set for release via visionquest’s special edition sub-label. france’s julian sandre and italy’s mennie have both individually carved out quite the career over the past decade with the former racking up releases on blindbox, franck roger’s home invasion and e wax amongst others, and the latter holding a residency at tenax club in italy and collaborating togheter on releases for poker flat and housewax of late, 2017 also saw their collaborative debut as jarau which came courtesy of the revered pleasure zone imprint. now returning for their second ep under this new guise the pair join the roster of visionquest special edition with saturn system and taking the lead is le voyage a snaking journey through billowing synth swells, jangling percussive chimes and organic drums before dubhe strips the vibe back to modulating resonant synths, shuffled stripped-back rhythms and lumpy sub bass tones. adrienne opens the flip side with the focus on a swinging drum groove as airy atmospherics ebb and flow throughout. hypnotize then rounds out the package and as the name would suggest relies on subtle nuances to draw you deeper and deeper into the intricately programmed percussion and smoothly blooming synth flourishes.

prelude ep is the inceptive release of oxmose, which marks the first entry in an ongoing catalogue, and the beginning of a journey with various artists. at its heart, the prelude ep is a dialogue between two composers a conversation that traces the line between abstract, electronic experimentalism and glitering interpretive jazz. parisian producer shcaa takes control of side a with core a near 20 minutes exploration into sound, which skirts the fringes of avant-garde minimalism and experimental rhythms. the songs acute cadence lays a dense and atmospheric foundation for the ep. side b sees romanian artist traian chereches offer-up an absorbing counterpoint to shcaas opener on cage. the energy of chereches rebuttal fuses organic and interpretive sounds into a deft jazz reinterpretation, revealing a wide and surprising cinematic ambience. mastered by rashad becker from dubplates & mastering berlin prelude will be released on limited edition 12inch, 180g heavyweight vinyl with an outer sleeve featuring handmade artwork created by graphic designer alice voinea.the organic materials used in her work, emphasizing the interchange of the record adding a further layer of continuity one that stretches between the artist, the music and the listener.

in the year 2053, two japanese musical explorers by the names of katsuyoshi and yousuke, travelled to the city of breda in the netherlands. whilst drinking beers in a park near the train station, they stumbled upon an old, partially decayed usb stick, hidden behind a trashcan. with usb technology being long absolete by then, they had no way of checking what was on there until returning back home to tokyo, where yousuke still had a macbook from around the turn of the century tucked away under his bed. after retreiving the data, the stick turned out to contain two 128kbps mp3s of unreleased coco bryce material. utilizing an extensive and painstaking radiocarbon dating procedure, they managed to pinpoint the production date to the spring of 2017. the tokyo natives then proceeded to reverse the mp3s back to their initial wav format via state of the art 2053 audio technology, and emailed them to richy at binary feedback, who subjected the files to a spot of mastering. richy immediately recognised the tunes from a series of youtube id request videos that had been doing the rounds for the previous 36 years. being the shrewd business man that he is, he decided to contact rick sanchez, who in turn teletransported the tracks back to 2017, dropping them off at an undisclosed dutch pressing plant. romanian visual artist raw parigi was contacted to sort out the labels, after which the records were pressed up and distributed to shops across the globe, hopefully making their way into the homes of hundreds of jungle and drumfunk enthusiasts worldwide. amen

nicolas demuth aka parra for cuva left in small town to study sound design in the wild, vibrant berlin. the various musical influences of the city only boosted his already strong fascination in producing electronic music and helped developing his unique sound. here again, we appreciate the constant search for singularity that allows us to truly attribute a coherence and a signature to his music.

mannheim duo ho do ri s lost in betty s ford is an exercise in restraint with the ep delving into the deeper realms of house music. elotrans kick things off with its shuffling percussion lending the track more of a jacking vibe. high level boost ups the energy whilst still retaining a distinctly left field vibe whilst k for the models delves into murkier realms in a superbly wonky way. back problems rounds things off with a sub-aquatic ride reminiscent of baby ford at his most coherent.

20 year old utrecht based producer julian alexander steps up for the next release in infuse with a ep of raw house grooves. sweet rain kicks things off, its deeply rounded bass and swung percussion imbuing the track with a real sense of groove. cabin fever continues the vibe whilst present brings a sense of warmth an undulating pad lending the track a more blissed out feel whilst straight furrows a tougher path with a dirtier warehouse kick and metallic percussion.

london based odd are a natural fit for infuse with their rolling hypnotic grooves featuring in the sets of the fuse crew for the past few years. their cold fusion ep kicks off with get away, the ep s vinyl only track, a deep edged shuffler, custom fit for those hazier dance-floor moments. roll the beats has a distinctly tripped out sensibility whilst making moves ups the energy with a sprightly house-edged bounce.
