is a pseudonym of a long term experimental artist willing to stay anonymous on this project. nurse with wound, hafler trio, soviet france and eraser head soundtrack could be the instant referencies.

recorded in vilnius in 1989. originally released on vinyl by melodija in ussr 1990.

the sound recordings for jimi tenors sähkö movie got lost in mid 90s. it was only last spring warp records retrurned all the demo tapes jimi sent them in 90s. happily the sähkö soundtrack parts were on those tapes too. we decided to compile a soundtrack ep from them for mika vainios memorial in oslo in september 2018. all the tracks are from the actual movie scenes.

jimi tenor featuring impostor orchestra lp, exocosmos, is more than a decade s worth of sessions emerging from a parallel cosmos. sometimes the meetings take place in a living room, sometimes inside an electronic sequencer. fields of rhythms have emerged through the hands of children playing sticks. the composer s pen has been a conduit of the horizon where past and present choose their sides. the lp which is immediately intimate yet metamorphose into massive, the search for a magic moment has been profound. tribulation and delight are equally true in exocosmos.

cosmic relief was jimi tenor s return to his home label and original one man band setup after busy warp years. the sound is ease breathing and the compositions are as sweet as only jimi can do. ***** in most of the reviews back in 2001.

dj sotofett has rearranged two finnish jazz funk classics from mid 70s that came out in original form on jazzpuu in 2001.

british art-rock band no-man (tim bownes & stewen wilson w mick karn, richard barbieri, steve jansen, ben coleman) recorded heaven taste in the studio sessions in summer 1992. it got first released as a complete 21 mins version on painting paradise ep on one little indian (1993). the track drew attention in the rising ambient techno scene and got played by djs like mixmaster morris. the track fuses ambient techno with art rock and features a distinctive fretless bass solo by mick karn. this super sound 45rpm 12- features a steven wilson edited 11.21 mins version of the original and on b-side jimi tenor s rearrange with some solos with flute and keyboard. file under: ambient techno

nasty boy is a upcoming house producer nicola penna from vibo valentia in south italy. his debut 12inch on sahko recordings is two beautiful blue cuts somewhere between classic detroit techno/house and modern mood hut style distorted bass and kick.

* take me baby * wurde ein großer hit in europa als warp records den titel 1996 lizenzierte und als single veröffentlichte. hier haben wir 3 versionen des titels die alle in der selben session in jimis haus im union avenue nyc im sommer 1993 aufgenommen wurde. die original version erschien zuerst auf tenors debüt-album > sähkömies< auf sähkö recordings im jahr 1994, die zwei weiteren bisher unveröffentlichten versionen wurden vor kurzem auf dem original-session band gefunden und werden nun zum ersten mal veröffentlicht.

stargazer is brandi ifgrays second solo album. it was recorded in nyc summer 1998 and was produced by jimi tenor. maurice fulton was playing on several songs. prior to the album release he remixed 3 of the album songs on puu-14.

mika vainio, currently based in berlin, was one half of the minimal electronic duo pan sonic from finland, (the other half was ilpo väisänen). before starting pan sonic in beginning of the 90 s mika vainio has played electronics and drums as part of the early finnish industrial and noise scene. his solo works, under his own name and under aliases like Ø, are known for their analogue warmth and electronic harshness. be it abstract drone works or minimal avant techno, vainio is always creating unique, physical sounds.

arc is a record series dedicated to mika vainio s archival releases. mika vainio wrote and compiled kiteet cd as a commission for snow crash-exhibition in milano 1997. finally it was not released for that show. tracks 1, 5 and 8 are not previously released.
