in den 1950er jahren entdeckte der englische mathematische physiker roger penrose das sogenannte penrose-dreieck, eine unmögliche geometrische form. fast 80 jahre später gründet der spanische musikproduzent und toningenieur david ponziano das label penrose records, das auf diese unendliche figur und ihre Ähnlichkeit mit einer musikschleife verweist.

der erster longplayer auf rose records kommt von m.ono. das doppel-vinyl erscheint inklusive bonus-ep (m.ono - rosedance / rose04).

the second edition of the rose records limited 10- series comes courtesy of junktion, whose releases on the likes of outplay and slow town didn t only sell out at breakneck speed but also established him as one of holland s biggest talents in discerning deephouse/disco circles. junktion does what he does best on this delightful little platter. the lolloping running for whatever on the a is as infectious as they come, with loads of clever samples arranged over classy rolling drums and a deep, rubbery bassline. flip over for pale blue dot, a slightly tougher, trippier uptempo workout with spaced out pads, big drums, crisp hats and massive synth stabs that should whip up a real frenzy in a packed club. killer pair of tunes from a producer that s very much on top of his game.

we are happy to welcome two new artists to rose records on our first real split record. rose 12 brings two pieces from chassé. the duo from belgium adds round bass and piano to send two deep and warm tracks into the game. on the other side, which is rose 13, you find two more crazy tracks which unite funky vocals with guitars – both from gledd a recent nice and surprising discovery for us from italy. we feel that the combination of both sides represent rose perfectly – a deep and funky mix.

we hope you are enjoying the summer and vacation is going hand in hand with some lovely festivals right now. even though nobody wants to think about summer coming to an end we are already looking forward to september at least because of one thing: our next record rose11 will be released mid-september. after his last release on rose five years ago our pal m.ono compiled the royal juice cuts no.01 with 4 tracks. we hope you like it!

alderaan (mindtrip, weekend circuit) is the a.k.a. of franco de michele, techno raising talent based in buenos aires who is the new signing artist of white rose records.
starting with a deep ambient track, the release becomes stronger with jade where we find a mental techno track with nice percussions, but keeping the deepness of the beginning.
with form of distraction the release explotes with a huge mental and for moments psycho techno track that seems to lead the release.

m.ono & luvless join forces for the seventh release on leipzig s much loved rose records the pair runs and curates alongside martin hayes & l.sluter. the duo impressed a few years ago with sought-after joint productions on upmarket labels like o*rs and kolour ltd and now steps up to the plate with a pair of pitch-perfect burners for their own imprint for the label s first 10- release. synth lines set the mood on the a with the delectable double you. crisp drums set the pace, carefully arranged percussive elements, a teasing vocal and a monumental breakdown take care of the rest. on the flipside we have happy chap. a quintessential rose fare with its tight drums, vocal snips and the sort of deadly piano work that is such a staple in m.ono and luvless productions.

dark rose is back with the first v/a of the label, based on the argentinean upcoming techno talents, zedje, matt saderlan and julixo in co-operation with the argentinean barcelona based rising techno star flug (cl recordings). tones of energy in this one!

the fourth release of the white flower belongs to mental resonance, the rising techno star of argentina. he already signed in the past with the dark part of the label. this time he is back with a huge dance floor techno bomb in translation and another track more in his normal detroit flavors style. echoes from other space.to end with it mr. craven signs the remix which tries to go deeper in the deepness and darkness concept of the original. an odyssey of more than 10 minutes that will make move more than one warehouse.

true soul brings together two london based producers in ues and alex magno. having released and remixed as individuals, the destination house ep brings the two friends together with a double-header of choice house cuts. you can feel the warmth flooding from barbados.elegantly deep, its simple bassline throbs like a musical heartbeat as the rasping hi-hat pierce the ever-present blanket of the single note synth. destination house comes outta the oldschool. warm bass, crisp percussion and smooth key stabs are matched with a persuasive vocal sample and some downtown traffic to create a fresh cut that tips its hat to the past. stepping up on the remix is young dutch talent tom ruijg, who sets about polishing his own version of destination house in some style. adding a little more muscle and holding the keys till the final third, tom rounds out the ep in style.

solid as it should be, a chuggy serious drive is shown, combined with well constructed raw hats loops. a very smooth disco influence is noticed on the vocal cuts and a funky >lead padding< in the background. the hotcomer leland mcwilliams is showing his interpretation of the track in a funky and tribal way. percussions and a shakers, combined with a funky baseline and a short house lead.
