rivulet records are continuing their release just where the compilation at the beginning of the year left us. again bringing 4 artists together on one release shifting between dusty, mellow house and some how twisted techno. peonies from russia, who has been releasing tapes on his own label „summer night“ since 1 year, sets the mood for the record with his track „soft light“ which sounds almost like a dim, fading memory of a club night full of classy house records. the rework by ital, the head behind „lovers rock“ from new york, builds up the mood in a complete different, driving and technoid atmosphere. the b-side is the first cooperation between two very old friends, berni from trier and jonas palzer from berlin, both part of portray records. their tracks are playing with the same kind of hauntology as the a—side, building up a sound that is familiar and distant in the same way - referring to old records by boards of canada as well as to the contemporary sound of „house“ at its best meaning.

„closed sessions“ is a little comeback for our small family business rivulet records, so we re very happy to get help from some good friends on this one. pablo mateo from lack, perseus traxx who has released on bunker and mos, mod.civil from ortloff in leipzig, profile from esthland and our very own stanley schmidt are artists who have been inspiring and exciting us for quite a while and who seem to share the same love for serious dancemusic. although the tracks are very different, the whole compilation is driven by a dark and moody vibe which doesn t let go the utopian and hopeful core of housemusic which has been the light we re been running for since one of these mornings… we hope you like what you hear, thanks for the support! yours sincerely, rivulet.

rivulet 004 is a home run for the young label wich operates between leipzig and berlin. the split-ep comes with 2 tracks by talski and stanley schmidt wich discloses the understanding of electronic music between the antagonism of deep and cheesy, techno and house, melancholia and euphoria that always drove the idea behind the label. stanley schmidt delivers a sample-based deephousetrack, wich opens up from a darker mood to sunshine- inspired >emo-house< using soul-inspired strings and a catchy (but not well known) vocal-snippet by candi staton. >a.brain0030< by talski is a dark, mystical techno-ballad wich comes with a broken beat and a drifting tribal. as always talski proofes his skills by using unusual sounds and a nonconform arrangement, wich always bears the quality of his tracks.

with *canyons* rivulet records releases another debut from a young artist. niklas krafts aka talski musical roots are basically jazz and freejazz and he is active as a saxophonist and keyboarder in some relevant combos like klinke auf chinch, eder or the niklas kraft quartett to mention only a few. as talski he presents his very own variation of deephouse. doleful chords, cheerful drums, sophisticated sample-work but mainly the sound of his analog hammonds and junos build up the charm of his tracks. it is hard to specify his sound but after all it ranges somewhere between electronica and deephouse. the danceable part of the ep is a classic deep-house remix produced by the leipzig based duo boytalk.

rivulet records ist ein junges vinyl-label, welches sich zwischen leipzig und berlin bewegt. der zusammenschluss mehrerer junger djs und veranstalter hat es sich zur aufgabe gemacht, jungen, talentierten und relativ unbekannten künstlern, fernab von der mp3-flut im internet, eine plattform zu bieten, um ihre musik zu veröffentlichen. momo ist ein 22 jähriger dj und produzent aus berlin. geboren in der stadt, die niemals schläft, wurde er sehr früh ins berliner nachtleben geworfen. fasziniert von den kontrasten dieser welt zwischen euphorie und selbstzerstörung, begann er schnell, seine eigene interpretation von techno und house zu kreieren. wesentlich beeinflusst von nicht elektronischer musik, haben seine sets und tracks immer einen sehr emotionalen einschlag und gehen nicht darin auf, tools für den dancefloor zu sein, sondern erschaffen einen sound, der einen bis in die morgenstunden verfolgt.seit 2012 gehört momo fest zum label rivulet, und stellt mit >one of these mornings< sein erstes offizielles release.
