this is the 5th release on riot radio records, an independent techno label based in scotland. here are 12 artists (the horrorist, paul birken, neil landstrumm, cannibal cooking club, nomad, durkit, dez williams, martyn hare, cymbol, binny, morphamish and lado) each with a wicked track for the first of many sampler lp’s on riot. it’s named a sampler because it is just that, a sample of the various artists and forms of techno that can be heard on our fortnightly riot radio show and also of what’s to come on the label from each of the artists featuring on the lp. that’s because each artist appearing on this lp will be delivering you their own individual release on the label, with each one featuring brand new original tracks and additional solid remixes by various exceptionally talented artists.

this is the 3rd release on riot radio records, an independent techno label based in scotland. ingen is an edinburgh based producer who s sound is one of harsh complex poly-rhythms and soundscapes that crosses over into the darker realms of techno. over the years he s appeared on many respected labels and also works regularly on projects with some of the worlds techno elite. for those lucky enough to see him battering out his stunning live sets, playing alongside such lumineries as surgeon, whitehouse and the advent, these humbled few know exactly what extremes ingen is capable of reaching to crush your senses into submission. on this release, along with the original version of haste makes waste , there are remixes of this beast of track by lag, martyn hare, paul birken, duellist and the riot remix (ingeneered by taser), each one taking the original composition down a different track. the ingeneers have spoken.

stuttgart geh¥rt zwar nicht unbedingt zu den gr¥?ten st?dten in deutschland, aber mit sicherheit zu den sch¥nsten. au?erdem ist stuttgart das pflaster der vielleicht besten punk-, skin- und hardcoreszene in deutschland, bezogen auf den zusammenhalt und den antifaschistischen background. dar?ber hinaus ist stuttgart die heimat der freiboiter.
die band existiert bereits seit 1997. in der aktuellen besetzung seit 2001. der sound spiegelt alle m¥glichen einfl?sse wieder. punk, oi!, rock n roll, hardcore. nenn es einfach streetpunk, oder such dir selbst einen begriff aus. die teilweise politischen und sozialkritischen, aber auch ironischen und schlicht aus dem allt?glichen leben gegriffenen texte werden kombiniert mit treibenden riffs und eing?ngigen melodien.die produktion des albums ist der hammer 12 bzw. 14 richtig gute songs die es einem schwer machen nicht von anfang an mit zu gr¥hlen

es w?re falsch die freiboiter als reine politische band zu bezeichnen, jedoch ist der begriff >antifascist oi!< nicht nur beiwerk, sondern fester bestandteil des selbstverst?ndnisses der band. das k¥nnen heutzutage wohl nur wenige bands aus dem so genannten streetpunk sektor von sich behaupten.gib ihnen etwas bier (besser nicht zu viel!), schn?r die stiefel und mach dich bereit f?r den sound aus motorcity stuttgart.

taking the counter comment to the album’s title track ‘the day is my enemy’, the prodigy are pleased to offer details of a forthcoming ep entitled ‘the night is my friend’ on limited translucent vinyl. the ep includes album tracks ‘get your fight on’ and ‘rhythm bomb’, two fresh remixes and the previously un-released, fan favourite ‘awol’. ‘awol’ has been a track the band have played live since 2012 but as the album writing and recording process developed the band decided to hold awol back . now, after reworking it into a new unheard version they feel it’s time to make it available on record.
