with an arsenal of releases on labels like ndatl, ppu, black catalogue, 2mr, and harsh riddims, atlanta artist stefan ringer presents the first release on his own imprint fwm entertainment. this contribution contains a fluid spectrum of sounds . “southside-, is a soulful, sexy summer house cut. “great beat” follows up in a similar vein, jazz inspired, introspective, and upbeat. while “wanna be bad” is a freaky skating rink inspired track. “got me 123&#8243,, is a hypnotic 2 step groove, and rounding it out is “fr shawty” a slowed vocal stepper.

punk 103 is a song from the album ring n roll, released in 2011, may the 2nd. this track was written and composed by catherine ringer, set to music by herself, mark kerr, and rza stone meccas musicians. the b-side of this vinyl is an exclusive acoustic live version recorded during a jean-paul gaultiers private show.

catherine ringer needs no introduction. shes the woman who created an inimitable, genre-defying personality who, along with her group les rita mitsouko, had a huge effect on the french pop music scene in the 80s right through to the noughties. in may 2011, she released her first proper solo album, ringn roll. ringer took the magic of ritas roots but towards something with a more music-hall leaning at its core. after a breath-taking dalliance in plaza francia alongside two founding members of gotan project, whereby she stepped into the shoes of a tango dancer, oozing elegance and sensuality, catherine is now back with a second album, chroniques et fantaisies.

following releases on ndatl & 2mr, the man of the moment delivers 2 originals & a drum track that are dance music lifted by curiosity and refined by gut instinct.

stefan ringer aka rekchampa says he makes music that’s danceable, intelligent, and soulful, and we couldn’t agree more. this 4 track ep of soulful house from the star of atlanta’s underground scene has everything for the discerning dj (bangers bounce #3 and can’t stop) and the home listener (heady deep cuts feeling it and the come down) alike. the release coincides with 2mr’s first in a series of semi-regular parties at black flamingo on the 27th, with ringer, mike simonetti and justin strauss.
