resista returns after a lengthy hiatus with this scorching edits 12 inch perfect for long summer nights. alphonse rozel - the mystery alias of a well-known london-based producer - follows up his excellent 12 inch on london housing trust by digging deep for a couple of us-themed disco edits on resista.

for release #5, resista welcome another new face to the family, ex-detroit resident and seasoned techno producer north lake, who delivers two tracks that are quite a departure from the labels recent output.

famed for their self-released km editions series, keyboard masher join daphni & tom croose in the resista family with the roaring afro editions - two faultless edits that distil the spirit of mother africa. opener >juju< is an epic fifteen minute long journey filled with joyous, duelling guitars, syncopated percussion, shuffling rhythms and a myriad of unexpected passages and turns. captivating from the off, there is only one word to describe >juju< – magical. on the flip >tcham tcham< takes a more direct route to the dancefloor … riding on a more electronic 4/4 beat, it is unashamedly leftfield, with a thunderous chug, a great guitar riff and deadpan calls of >tcham tcham<, which all builds up to an anthemic climax. drop it and watch the dancefloor melt.

having played host to the first two daphni edits 12 inches, resista return with the label debut of one tom croose.
one half of ny duo worst friends, toms previous discographic output was a limited & stamped 7 inch that featured a killer edit of the macs >never going back again<. for resista no. 3 he delves into territories brazilian, with >cho chua<, a faultless rework of a certain tropicalista, designed for discerning dancefloors, circa ad 2011. he loops up the swinging guitar intro, which combined with the vocal hook makes for a heady mix. its an uplifting, joyous ode to all things tropical!
on the flip the >dukes dub< is a subtler more restrained version that makes greater use of effects and surprisingly brings the songs percussive elements to the fore... not quite as direct as its sibling on the a-side but definitely as effective!
