nice price deal !!! titonton duvante s residual imprint has long been considered one of the most respected house-leaning labels in the game. over the course of the past two decades, the ohio-based label has housed works from some of the scene s foremost players, with the likes of boo williams, john tejada, demarkus lewis and volcov among those who ve repped the tight-knit label with distinction. the label s latest is another high point for all concerned. a v/a featuring the works of duvante & andreas saag as well as garrett david, todd sines (under his .xtrak alias) and fym, it s a wonderfully varied and exciting release that speaks volumes of the label s ability to consistently churn out top drawer house music.

the good thing, if we talk about real artists is: their music never gets old. titonton duvante presents another essential record on his new classic series. this time it s the -furity ep- which came out on the legendary multiplex label 1998. all tracks are re-mastered and the music couldn t sound fresher than today!

titonton duvante presents residual classic. this series is created to all the outstanding releases titonton did in the past on various labels. some of those are not active anymore but the music needed a return on vinyl and with residual classic there is now the right platform.
first release is the classic * avenues/ alleyways* from 1998 which originally came out on 2000 black!

the gloves come off for this dancefloor destroyer of a release. raucous, raw and rugged trax from smartbar chicago resident garrett david. acid lines and early 90’s blips start off the ep. thetwisting and turning minimal funk of the b2 keep the pace up. growling percussion pulsates on the b1. the ep concludes with wassup, a full throttled house groove.

the wait is over! sound programming wizard and groove master, jeff samuel comes storming in with three new jams. the return was signaled by his recent appearance on our refraction vol. 2 record. nevermore is dubby, melodic and pulls at the heart strings. perfect sunrise soundtrack. both tunes on the b side feature that quirky funk that sets jeff apart from the pack. welcome back sir! our dancefloors missed you

hot on the heels of refraction vol. 2, residual welcomes the return of long time friend john tejada. the prolific programming master serves up salacious selections that are searing to say the least. the lead track jaco is a pepe bradock influenced piece the twists and turns with breaky beat work. the numbers on the b side are firmly focused on filing the dance floor. round the outside shows tejada in top form. upfront drums and basslines perfectly paired with flittering melodies. repurposed is more minimal in form but no less effective. quirky tweeks along cascading riffs.

after the very well received >hunter / grazer< ep by jeroen liebregts, audio assault returns with their first post-summer release. prepare for another contribution by japanese prodigy go hiyama, delivering dirty and industrial beats in the classic hiyama tradition.
besides the orginal version of >residual set<, this release features three quality remixes by the likes of oscar mulero, radial and bas mooy, who each give their own unique interpretation on the original. the result is a varied release, which already did some serious damage on several dance floors worldwide.

in this most recent phase, the intercontinental duo progress into new territory on four tracks that dwell in minimalism. atmospheric white noise and resonant synthesizer sequences combine together with spatial awareness and repetitions that build structures progressively. primal, slow and pulsing sounds give way to dynamic peaks. these tracks were recorded in the same session as the recent “el temps no passa” release on the philadelphia imprint white denim making it a perfect follow-up.

bolder is martin maischein who used to record as henrich at hart on position chrome and peter votava also known as pure who has recorded previously for mego and was half of ilsa gold. with their combined background in electronic music of all angles bolder introduces a significant proposition to the current experimental electronic boom. blurring the lines between industrial, techno, dub, ambient and narrative forms, the work on bolders debut presents a dance amongst the abyss, a world where organic rhythms provide the path amongst a swarm of foreboding electronics. herein lurks an atmosphere where hostile electronics weigh the hope and paranoia of todays climate. one humans listen is another humans challenge.
