real sool brings together a trio of heavyweight practitioners in the fine art of house music to remix tracks from ultramarines critically acclaimed album of late 2013. atlantas kai alce and amsterdams juju & jordash are real soon veterans with five releases between them on the label.

featuring new material and recorded in the bands isolated studio on the edge of the essex marshes, the album ebbs and flows in mood like the nearby blackwater estuary. working with a palette of vintage drum machines, analogue synths, textural samples, acoustic recordings, electric bass & heavily treated guitar, the songs were born out of captured live studio performances.

session victim - berlin/hamburg based duo of hauke freer and matthias reiling - return with the next installment in real soons occasional limited edition series. the late runner ep follows two well received real soon releases - session victims no friends ep (2008) and hauke freers my beat 12inch (2007). the four tracks here continue session victims exploration into their distinctive brand of low key tech/house minimalism - their productions combine a confident timeless simplicity with a subtle attention to detail & texture and a clever ear for melody. as well as real soon, session victim have previous releases on hairy claw and their own recently launched label retreat.

sun dance is the debut full release by berlins rising sun, aka steffen laschinski. the ep features rising sun originals sun dance and candy in my pocket - two blissful tracks of old-style house-influenced minimalism infused with the heady atmosphere of early-90s innocence and joy - distant memories of simpler times - beach parties, bonfires, the sun rising over the sea at dawn… on the b-side, sven weisemann (mojuba, liebe*detail, a.r.t.less, styrax leaves) remixes sun dance, stretching it out into a beautiful shape-shifting epic. all tracks are mastered by masked techno maverick redshape (delsin, present, music man, styrax leaves). steffen laschinski is currently best known as the label boss of influential labels styrax records, styrax leaves and millions of moments. rising sun have previously featured on split artist releases on the workshop and ruin labels. b side plays inside out

kai alcé returns to real soon with a new 3-track ep - his third release on the label following corner manuvers (2006) and broken headlights (2007). polyester static features two tracks at either end of kais stylistic spectrum plus a driving remix by house music legend chez damier. the title track is a classic mix of jacking synth bassline, rhodes piano chords, pitched up cowbells and scat vocals. at the other end of the spectrum, born a day after is another great example of kais deep, drowsy, beautifully constructed minimalism. on the flip, chez damier remixes polyester static, heading straight for the dancefloor with a rolling bassline, stabbing chords and submerged vocal - irresistible pure house music in the best tradition! kai alcé is an atlanta-based dj and producer with roots in detroit and new york. he has previous releases on track mode, late night essentials, real soon & moodymanns mahogani music and in 2008 launched his own label ndatl muzik

minefield e.p. is the second real soon release by dublin-based italian producer leopoldo rosa (aka lerosa). on this 4-track ep leo brings us more of his warm, loose-limbed, us-influenced, abstract house experiments and, on the snappy title track minefield, refers back to his earlier electro sound. whatever the style, leo has a distinctive touch and a refreshingly simple, unpretentious production style - letting the machines do their business with the minimum of fuss. leo has started to build a strong reputation over the past two years with a series of excellent releases on real soon, enclave recordings, a touch of class, uzuri and millions of moments and has recently entered the live arena - look out for him in a club near you

ray valioso (aka swiss producer agnès) returns to real soon with the 4-track particles e.p. on the title track particles, ray uses a moog-like synth part and a treated rhodes piano to weave a hypnotic melody that drifts in and out of focus over a clatter of loose, live percussion and distorted voices. on tocar te, basic house maniobras and groove memories, ray is in less experimental territory and turns in three quality pieces of warm, percussive, luxurious deep house. this is ray valiosos second full release, following up on his well-received einladung e.p. (real soon, 2006) - featuring the excellent >get the strings?< - and his recent appearance on the deep vibes recordings compilation >in the streets<.

the title track recalls those half forgotten dreams of positivity and optimism inspired by early us house music… a nostalgic arrangement of arpeggiated synths, high string lines, analogue drum machines and a 1980s vintage, new order like stepped bassline. housemuzik 1.2,3 takes us into much dark territory, dragging a similar palette of sounds into a dense psychedelic mix of acid guitar, pitched down demonic vocals and disorientating spacial effects. dont listen to this with the lights off! fajr dub is an epic, stoned dub collage built around classic space echo delay & feedback tricks, spectral voices and a shifting synth bass pattern, all underpinned by a soft pulsing backbone reminiscent of rhythm & sound productions.

real soon is proud to present the debut release by berlin-based producer hauke freer. hauke has an old-school production approach, working with contemporary software but using a palette of mainly vinyl samples to give a loose, effortless, raw-sounding edge. my beat is a dirty, gritty, house work-out featuring deep, filtered chords, lo-fi percussion and roughly chopped vocal pieces. old-fashioned in a good way - just the way we like it! we must face our fears is a smoother, minimal track with a delicate, beautifully measured mesh of percussive knocks, slides & bleeps driven by a pulsing sine wave bass. as the track builds, a classic detroit-flavoured chord wash brings it all together. bliss... biography hauke freer grew up in a small town near hamburg and moved to berlin in 2000 to work for the techno label kanzleramt. after spending a year in australia djing and working for the label future classic, hauke returned to berlin to work for the resopal schallware label

lerosa is dublin-based italian producer leopoldo rosa. the title track ruski combines a rough-cut sampled break with a loose, minimal arrangement of sub-bass and liquid synth pads. on the flip, russell and tempio are deep, moody house explorations, beautifully suspended by shifting sine wave pads and rhodes-like chords. born in rome, leo developed a love of electronic music through italian pop music of the 1980s, before discovering hip hop and acid house. he began djing in the early 90s and in 1995 moved to dublin where he got heavily into darker, deeper electronica and electro by the likes of autechre, drexciya and the extended detroit-inspired musical underworld. leo began producing his own music in 2000, concentrating initially on electro but broadening his range into unconventional house and techno styles. his debut lerosa release was the ‘maike ep’ on dublin’s d1 recordings in 2005. as well as this real soon release, leo also has a forthcoming 12inch on enclave recordings (ireland)
