illegal rave tapes ist das erste wax treatment für acrelid, mit freundlicher genehmigung von dance data records. die ursprünglich aus 134 tracks bestehende sammlung ist eine momentaufnahme von john lee richardsons musikarchiv aus den jahren 1999-2012.

seit dem reifen alter von 12 jahren ließ er sich von der britischen rave-szene der 90er jahre inspirieren, in der er sich wiederfand. dieser funke war der beginn einer lebenslangen besessenheit. er machte sich daran, die essenz dessen einzufangen, was er in dieser zeit um sich herum fühlte und sah, sei es durch das aufnehmen von loops aus einer playstation 1 auf kassette/cd oder durch das ausleihen von jeglichem anderen equipment, das er in die finger bekam oder das ihm leute liehen.

gen x returns with a new ep named ravechannel. this four track ep is the follow-up from the same unknown artists which delivered the generation x earlier this year. ravechannel is an outlined ep with a touch of the early 90’s rave sound blended with the sound of today. with the early rave and acid influences this ep comes as a hand stamped limited white label yellow vinyl.

the ep -a form of travel unknown to humans- is chasing us. guiding and forcing a way simultaneously. the sound is harsh but has an immaculate precision to it –void of air- compelling the listener toward a light, seducing us to tear through the night. we enter with „s.m.o.d. – sticks- a deep and magnetic sound opening up slowly, starting to breathe and to merge into -s.m.o.d. – cell culture- which gives a much more metallic flavour but never the less beat driven – fast and strident- maybe even hasty, pushing to skip a beat of the heart. to finish off with -s.m.o.d – pulse- carrying an unsettling almost disturbing quality, formulating a mechanical sound alienated from the human experience. the ep creates a seductive space outside our comfort zone, inviting to explore a space and travel unknown to humans. gimme more.

louis guilliaume has come a long way and with his every release he has proven to deserve his space amongst the finest techno producers out there. unknown forces ep is a straight forward techno ep which shows influences from his hometown rotterdam to detroit and back to berlin.
