across hacienda classical, the collision of dance music anthems with orchestral instrumentation breathes new life into club anthems across both the more famous and more underground tracks included. the album has been executive-produced by peter hook, together with producer phil murphy and its release allows fans to enjoy the live set for the first time outside an event. the release of this innovative album will allow fans to enjoy ‘haçienda classiçal’ as a recording for the very first time and alongside the welcome new c4 documentary, provides fans with a unique insight into the show, the music and the characters involved.

in keb darges own words: i ve done many a compilation in my day, mostly based around the tunes i played at my long running deep funk nights in madame jo jos. that night is no longer on the go, possibly due to a growing lack of interest on my part, (sorry). in the last few years the lost & found: nights at the club have been my real passion, and indeed little ediths and andy smiths passion too. what a marvelous era this is for good music. we may still have pure stuff like dub step: pulling in large numbers of sheep, but an equal number of youngsters are being attracted to retro, or at least retro sounding music. people tell me it is because the youth are fed up with computerized music, or men with drug problems angrily shouting at them over a dull repetitive beat, but i know lots of teenagers who have bypassed this muck all together. must be the internet that is helping kill off the demand for empty music. you no longer need to go to a retro club night, or indeed search out rare records to be exposed to good music, the internet is full of the stuff. my fifteen year old daughter is a marc bolan fan who while researching the poor fellows influences discovered chuck berry, sun records, etc, etc. i dont really know or understand why so many are at last getting into the good stuff, but they are, and it is wonderful for the likes of me.

imagination of the shape draws a new skyline while not abandoning the roots of the city. the tracks this time obviously point towards the future of course a bright one! the mixture of established artists and newcomers declares that plastic city has many great names and artists inside the city limits and nevertheless searches for new flavours, techniques, sounds and people but this time something is really different. all artists mentioned on the double 12inch compilation come up with neverseen creations which all have a new flavour and perfectly fit together. imagination of the shape sounds like science fiction house music something you never heard before. high quality tech house touches new spheres and instantly grabs the listeners attention. approved artists as terry lee brown junior, the timewriter, greg parker, rob pearson, colin dale or eddie richards prepared a row of pleasant surprises as they left the old centre of their city. slightly more minimal but still housy and groovy the tracks are connected to each other as it has always been greatly compiled at plastic city. theres much consideration behind the artists works as well as behind this chapter. imagine the shape imagine the future
