der 2008 von pascal laugier (zehn jahre vor seinem letzten film incident in a ghostland) inszenierte martyrs ist zweifellos der umstrittenste französische horrorfilm seines jahrzehnts. abgesehen von der symbolik seines zwecks oder dem hyperrealismus seiner spezialeffekte ist das filmmaterial nur die darstellung einer liebe zwischen zwei freunden in einer zunehmend entmenschlichten gesellschaft. die von den brüdern cortés komponierte musik ergibt sich aus der vision ihres direktors, manchmal kalt und streng, manchmal organisch und sogar melancholisch. der soundtrack endet mit dem berühmten titel your witness mit pop-floydian-akzenten. erstmals ist auch das lied my neighbourhood des komponisten goldmund vertreten. martyrs, der zweite film von pascal laugier nach saint-ange im jahr 2004, ist auch das neueste projekt des maskenbildners benoît lestang (das lebende tote mädchen, die rache der lebenden toten) oder der mitarbeiterin von mylène farmer für sans contrefaçon, giorgino und qi ) wem unser label hier tribut zollt. diese veröffentlichung ist das ergebnis einer mehr als einjährigen engen zusammenarbeit zwischen den brüdern cortés, goldmund und the omega productions records. sie enthält die gesamte partitur auf 150 g vinyl, die sich in einem luxusgatter mit echtem chrom befindet, das von der kalten Ästhetik von pascal laugier abgeleitet ist. mit liner notes von willie cortés.

philadelphia producer king britt has dusted off his analogue machinery for 3-tracks of sci-fi indebted synth work. hyperdub present a brilliant and subtle curveball courtesy of phillys finest, king britt, in his new guise as fhloston paradigm. built from drum machines, analogue keyboards and 303s, and edited in the computer, these three lean and mean tracks have an unadorned feeling that build on hyperdubs love for old john carpenter style electronics, combined with dr patrick gleasons ear for the abstract, and bouncy drum machine syncopation that sounds like they are aiming for an alternative present where analogue synths are still king.
