our exploration of ballet mechaniques old dat archives, stack full of unreleased material from the 90 s era, continues with our sixth release and materializes into the third volume of the 1992-1999 collection series. like the previous two volumes of the series did, also this ep brings to lights the diverse and varied approach of jeroen s productions: an a side featuring more ravey and uplifting tunes, and a b side focused on funk fuelled electro and idm.

l_cio is a brazilian artist who brings his own flute playing to his music. he has previously collaborated with the likes of portable on the huge hit ‘surrender’ and is a live act who has held residencies at plenty of key clubs in brazil. he’s also toured all over the world from egg london to robert johnson in frankfurt and released on labels like perlon, soul clap records and d.edge. his eight-track album is an emotive affair with deep house grooves embellished with his own spine tingling instrumentals and flute.

henrique oliveira aka hnqo, is the man responsible for this exciting full album release on doc records.

headed by a carioca who was blessed with the name of his own city, moodisco contains a 3-track bomb from leo janeiro with doc label boss gui boratto and a very special remix by french act rodriguez jr. this could just be a happy coincidence, were itÆs not for the fact that leoÆs trajectory made him a protagonist of the electronic music scene in his hometown, rio de janeiro. he built a career dedicated to music. in a city with so many daytime attractions, it is the night and electronic music that has been blessed with his talent. he has compiled an impressive list of residencies and performances globally. known as one of the ambassadors for brazilian electronic music, leo has the ability to combine originality to a universal language. just like his hometown. on this limited edition vinyl and digital release, leo janeiro, gui boratto and rodriguez jr. presents a serious track sequence of techno and house beats. each artist has kept its own trademark. öi had a lot of ideas and one of them was to have a remix by an artist that i admire, respect and have a personal relationshipö, says leo janeiro. rodriguez jr. (oliver mateu), shared his unique talent creating a remix for moodisco. he is the one half of french electro act the youngsters û best known for their two studio albums and singles for laurent garnierÆs label. rodriguez jr. reveals a different incarnation of mateuÆs musical psyche, moving through shimmering, contemplative electronica, to deep and urgent techno, leftfield melodic accents and quirky pop refrains. a perfect blend for this project. moodisco is a combination of artists and friends on the move. they are tireless in enthusiasm and are bursting with new tunes and projects. a straight punch ep release with serious beats, deep melodies and the synth keys we just love to listen over and over!

chico buarque construcao revisited by l_cio is a beautiful debut project part of a doc series of releases combining classic brazilian names with doc artists and producers. l_cio (laercio schwantes) the man with the transverse flute known for some of the freshest and unique tracks coming out from brazil is behind this gemstone. increasingly building a legacy of fans following his live performances and recent releases on doc records (vazio, traffic, people talk, schwantes), this man is a non-stoppable 30 hours machine gun. on this long awaited 2-track limited edition vinyl release, l_cio and gui boratto kept the roots of this classic track construcao. however they added all the proper elements of a techno dance floor knockout. by inserting malicious baselines, flutes and strings they generated aggressive melodies while keeping all characteristics of this epic song. voted as the greatest brazilian song by rolling stones magazine, construcao was originaly recorded by chico buarque in 1971 with production by roberto menescal. released during military dictatorship, chico buarque criticizes the way of life of the brazilian workers, comparing them to machines. the song is known for its interchangeable last words, used as if they were pieces of a board game, as said by buarque. generatiions apart, construcao (l_cio & k_ri version) and construcao (l_cio & borattos deconstructed mix) are the first ever authorized remixes in over 45 years. l_cio the latest dance floor brazilian soldier, a menacing builder of beats completes an epic turnnig point by editing and lapidating a classic poetry. with a b side dub version beutifully crafted by label boss gui boratto, this limited edition pearl is finally here for our joy!

paula chalup is one of the most important figures of the underground brazilian electronic scene, and has been at the epicentre of each of the revolutions throughout these almost 20 years down the road. in a musical symbiosis with producer and multi - instrumentalist lucas parisi, a member of sao paulo laptop orchestra an experimental electronic music project, which was presented at the virada cultural in 2011 and file (international festival of electronic language). together they form the iao yoruba word that stand for initiate. building soundscapes that lead to a spiritual journey.

after his recently, well acclaimed balearic adventures as “jane in palma”, don froth makes a welcome return to the wncl fold. he comes out fighting with the bass and bleep heavy “hr22”, nicely juxtaposed with the equally quirky but altogether more soulful sounds on “joint loose”. flip to the b side for more jump up adventures with -docs- and, by popular demand, his previously bite-sized cut “a broad range” gets extended into a full on acid squelch “widescreen mix” to close the show.

born in sao paulo to a deeply religious family, laercio has been around music all his life - amidst the challenges of daily life, his adventist parents would whip out all sorts of instruments whenever the situation would allow it, introducing a young and curious mind to a wide range of musical expressions. it should come as no surprise, then, that our hero quickly felt at home with notes and bars, choosing the flute as his first weapon of choice which he eagerly studied from the age of seven. even later non-musical career choices always reflected an infatuation with the world of sounds, like his stint as a capoeira teacher, combining martial arts, acrobatics and dance. with such a multi-faceted background in music, the inevitable tinkering with synthesizers and other means of electronic sound generation was rather a question of time than one of ambition, and sure enough we find laercio roaming the parties of the mid-noughties, absorbing the unique melange of styles and scales that inform club culture to this day. in stark contrast to most other rave inductees at the time, however, he never wanted to become a dj: his area of expertise is the performance, not the collecting and curating of other people s releases, and it shows in the unusual fact that laercio has held club residencies as a live electronic musician in venues like sao paulo s the edge without ever so much as touching a record. in these release l_cio has worked with d.o.c. mastermind gui boratto. and the result is music for the dancefloor.
