after releasing space control an intergalactic journey into synthesizers, back in 2012, the theremynt duo went on to release a successful, if steady, stream of eps, including robotique de l amou r and vampiros discos (a tribute to brazilian filmmaker ze do caixao). with remixes coming from the likes of david carretta, acid washed and club bizarre, these were playlisted by scene djs such as marvin & guy and ivan smagghe, amongst others. now yann and eva are striking back with their second lp, parallels. it s a record that sees them changing their colour palette and mood, but one that s still haunted by ghosts that lurk within their synthesizers and drum machines. the 10 tracks still exhibit peel s ever shifting vocal style and yann s sophisticated arrangements. but the second lp oscillates between ballad and dancefloor, landing between cosmic disco influences, krautrock and other progressive techno sounds. as a bonus, the album also features a cover of famous 80 s anthem self control. myna music returns to vinyl again with a new series of sampler ep s. the concept is to bring together old and new producers to the myna family with a 4-track ep. to kick things off, we bring together kinky movement, matt shrewd, terry waites & nikco. between them they deliver 12 inches of deep, tech, funk and chunky house goodness! from the uk, australia and hong kong. kinky movement - everything starts the party of with an offering from long standing group, kinky movement. they re no stranger to myna, having frequented the label over the past years with both remixes and full ep s. expect chunky, underground house with hints of classic sounding house vocals - perfect for peak time floors. kinky movement s first release was back in 2004 on tango recordings. since then they have gone on to work with well over 50 various labels from around the globe and released over 200 original tracks and remixes on labels such as large music, salted music, swing city, drop music, king street, moulton music, nitegrooves, jalapeño, sleazy deep, and simma black. also, the trio has recently had their music featured on bbc radio 1 extra, presented by dj monki. matt shrewd - pump it up moving on, matt shrewd makes a comeback to the scene after a long break!

the lights, the eps title track is a profound and complex story, never forcing itself upon the listener but gently picking him up in real sophisticated (production) manner. the second original track, -blckout-, is based upon a more repetitive structure. a deep male vocal, intertwining with a mystical synth-line and driving percussions gives this track its compelling energy. the b-side of the release consists of two remixes by myny and echonomist giving it both clubby structure and a beautiful-warm atmosphere.

strong ep of emotive electronics from belgian wunderkind on apollo amyn aka niels blondeel delivers a 7 track bumper collection of his singular song craft - combining aching melodies with lush, expansive production and sound design. self taught with a heavy emphasis on sound design and atmospherics, blondeels acclaimed initial dancefloor explorations soon found a more natural fit in the introspective tracks herein, and a perfect compliment on the apollo roster nestling alongside the likes of synkro. the fruits of his labour are now richly delivered on the best heard ep.

the r zone series excels at raw, inventive, off kilter club music from a range of mysterious artists. that fine tradition continues once more here with another four cuts of inventive music that takes cues from techno, idm, acid and house. lumidei is all wonky drums and out of time hits and is a brilliantly weird cut full of spacious atmospherics. mynheer is built on a bed of broken beats, knocking hits and metallic textures that all tumble and fall around loosely and invitingly.

finally after 3 years season 1 comes to an end. the birth of concept that has led to the evolution of who we are today. we’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented artists that have been an inspiration to us helping us shape and form a part of our identity. that is because several reasons is not just about the music, it is about the experience, the exploration, the collaboration, the up times and the down times, the good times and the better times, for the journey… closing off the first season made no other sense than to seal it with a special collaboration from the owners of several reasons, dubit & mynude. an ep that that truly provokes and challenges boundaries of the stereotypical label of “music”. covering all aspects of ambient, atmospheric and experimental types of sounds, the release really an experiment of psychoacoustics.

apart from the rush and hype all around electronic music these days, charmly embraced by the mighty black forrest, is the center of the badnerland, good old freiburg in germany. at first it may be hard to believe that there is more than just sunshine and wine this far south, but you would be surprised by the ever growing request for electronic music in this region. so at this point it just feels right to finally come up with a strong label throughout this exciting movement, you have guessed it: solide.
