reissue of balearic gem spanglish movement from little known band hot pepper! originally released as a private pressing in 1978 and featuring famous drummer jesus munoz tilico, a giant musician who appeared on countless recordings and accompanied famous figures like paul mauriat and carl tjader among many others. four superb long tracks including the cosmic underground club classic ritual song. hot pepper was a studio project created by mexican drummer / producer /arranger jesus munoz tilico who in the late 70s decided to record an album in a disco-funk vein, helped by some of his friends who were top session musicians. �spanglish movement� was the result, written and produced by �tilico�, released in 1978 as a tiny private edition housed in a fabulous afro cover. being tilico an enormous drummer, you can expect here lots of heavy drums, congas and percussion, surrounded by crazy space synths, male-female vocals, latin horns, afro touches and occasional fuzz guitar.

cadenza music opens up its 2016 account with the debut single from swiss producers, rare movement feat. disco channel. cutting their teeth on the dj circuit for many years, and playing alongside such esteemed jocks as seth troxler, ricardo villalobos (who mastered the audio on these tracks), jamie jones and luciano (who ultimately signed this single to cadenza), the guys have crafted a pair of tracks that sit right in the dj sets of the aforementioned company. rare 007 combines tension building synths and a wandering bassline, wrapped up tight in solid drum groove, its hypnotizing tones carving out a most useful club tool. on the flip side, rare 011 digs deeper, with cinematic string sweeps over the sparse and bass heavy kick drum. flashes of vocal refrains and micro percussion fly in and out of the arrangement as the melodic elements give this one a real sense of drama as the track blossoms into life. a very accomplished debut from the guys will no doubt provide a real dancefloor moment in the right setting, and no surprise that villalobos gave these tracks the audio master that they deserve.

dark entries presents all four mixes of transdance by night moves as a tribute dedicated to the lives lost in the oakland ghost ship fire on december 2, 2016. night moves was the brainchild of michael guihen, from south london. inspired by seeing tubeway army perform on top of the pops in 1979 he placed an ad to form a synth-based band in the nme. in november 1980 he was introduced to denis haines, formerly gary numans keyboardist on the telekon album. denis and michael worked closely together, writing a number of backing tracks. one of these was the farewell song from gary numan to his band tubeway army, love needs no disguise. in exchange for this backing track, denis gave michael the studio time needed to develop transdance

talk of japanese soul often refers to enka, the sentimental ballad emanating from downhome bars and karaoke boxes. from the late 1960s, however, reverberations from across the pacific would lead to the nation�s own take on soul music as we know it in the west. some of the artists showcased on this compilation may not have been commercially successful but their legacy stands the test of time.

legendary nyc dj / editor danny krivits story in contemporary dance music is a long and storied one. dannys got to be one of the hardest working men behind the decks right now with an international rep and dj schedule truly befitting of his time spent making us dance over the last 45 (!) years. it makes perfect sense then, that one of the most seminal disco labels of all time would call upon mr. ks sharp editing skills when reappraising some of the jams from their extensive catalogue. tk disco is the label in question here and they ve let danny loose on a pair of dance-floor burners that all disco heads will be familiar with.
