the first release on doble bilder is curated by the duo mørk, formed by emanuele pertoldi and francesco devincenti. pareidolia ep tells the phenomena from which it takes its name, that is a subconscious illusion that makes us see forms and recognizable objects in amorphous structures surrounding us. the ep evokes three pareidolia phenomena through sounds assembled live with hardware and recorded on tape.
italian producer morkebla presents his new “inner maze walkthrough” ep on fuselab. drippy rhythms, haunted industrial touch, subtly discomforting though balanced textures - a good blend of ambient electronica and nowadays meta divings into one’s mind corners. there is also a collaboration with infinity frequencies and a remix by perfume advert on a 12” with printed cover by theresa baumgartner.
total makt is the molten new ep from evigt morker. there s plenty to be charmed by as the collection of tracks open out and tame our senses. once the flirting fades, we are quite casually led down bumpy, aqueous routes into something, and slowly we are funnelled into evigt morker s terrain, eventually arriving in darker corners of the fantasy that first caught our eye.
back to the future and northern velkommens to bro morken. eps for prins blud thomas full pupp show early production chops, but its his residency as part of oslos jaeger crew where the range of styles is truly showcased. appearances on trushmix series and his recent road trippin cassette for l.i.e.s last year show depth(charge) dj on a roll, but its setting up the moonlighting label where vibes came alive via some electro bass tribal sub bass wonder. jungle dialects! all and more over these 5 cuts afro-bump-shuffle-rat-tat-hats-acid-stab-meets-storyville-dark-tom-toms-pads-relentless-hypnotic-down-down-electro-italo-endings-and-bass!
alexander kowalski has been immersed in techno for a long time, and his sound is massively representative of the reduced, late night berlin sound. as d_func. he s contributed many times to marcel heese s finitude label, and now he s back to pay tribute to uk free party techno legends spiral tribe. kowalski s own interpretation may be more minimal and hypnotic than the wild, raucous energy spiral tribe was best known for, but his trancey approach comes on like a nostalgic vision into the early 90s, while also aligning with the modern masters such as donato dozzy and peter van hoesen.
formidable 3 track 12inch from the far north. sabothoka on the side a delivers a real cry for freedom in the form of an afrobeat disco dancefloor crowd pleaser that will make you smile, this track was a rune lindbaek floorfiller at the infamous club nomaden in oslo, norway. on side b changeling kicks off and does not disappoint, with its peak time acid house guitar loop, heavy head nodding drums and vocal it s a surefire winner. finally on b2 we have strong, a carnival style dubbed out reggae vibe with some cheeky effects and subtle flows. long live the wild pitch! dj support: todd terje rune lindbaek rahaan severino (horse meat disco) yyyes please all tracks i like yam who yeah some killer vibes there agent 86 (melbourne) oh man killer material thank you so much. andy carroll (cream/ibiza)
van abbe is back with no comment presenting 2 originals, a monologue from guy tavares (bunker records) + an evigt mörker remix. what did you feel the first time you were stargazing? standing alone in a dark backyard with your neck bent and the light from a thousand distant suns glittering in your bright eyes. did the overwhelming sensation of your own triviality descend upon your young soul like a dementor from azkaban? or did an unprecedented yearning breach every fibre of your being, compelling you to break free from the shackles binding you to the very ground? if you are in the latter category, this music is constructed especially for you. its a spaceship built from wooden barrels and rusty metal crates, pinned together with a multitude of crooked nails. but it works. it really does. you just have to make your mind broad enough to fit your clumsy terrestrial body in the spacecraft. the booming engines and the melodic bleeps from the control panel will do the rest. soon enough you’ll find yourself surrounded by the very stars you used to gaze upon as a child.
through their few short years, baroc have maintained a fascination with the darker side of electronics. italian ambient aficionado morkebla offers up ono-sendai cyberspace lp, a deep and deeply distrurbing lp scented with thematic twists and plotted falls. morkebla draws on influences in black metal, noise, industrial and ambient and has had previous releases on where to now?, slumdiscs and reckno.
comes as plain white label in a black trashbag with glued on screen printed artwork on a heavy paper card.

these walls have made us the beings we are. they have listened and echoed, our words, our creed, our hate. these walls have tied down the souls of us, they made us insane, hysterics, in observing defenceless, uncredulous that there was not, any reaction. we can only halt us, after having used up our nails, over these walls now rough because of our shouts, our burned hopes, by our passions damned, by our minds, dinned. none could ever help us, because as slaves we feel and now we are, of these cursed walls and of these walls damned that, however still give a sense, to our cold life.

the second release of full pupp slipts, our little sublabel for greatest future hits by our key staff mambers, ventures into the land of late 80 and 1990s plenty - some will remember it as that mythical place where whistles roam and mateys dwell to the sound of knob twiddling people and their 303. our first edition in an ongoing series, a norwegian love letter to acid house or as vi say:Æsid! vi kal it aesid 1 read: we call it acid volume one features 4 of our best production teams with their very best in classic acid house and that all - with such immense o pleasure, you can almost even feel that ecstasy. carefully select until we had them together to sound profound and as complete as volume one is! check yourself. its that sick, really. you won t regret! we let the music speak for itself. more hotness and hot mess just around the corner, more volumes to follow later.
the anticipated second release from los angeles/seattle imprint slumdiscs comes in the form of a 12 inch from two artists who have each had a prolific year, refining their respective takes on dark electronics. side a features three tracks from italian producer morkebla (where to now?/reckno). he utilizes ethereal synths to create vast, mind expanding soundscapes just as suited for club use as they are for deep meditation. side b is provided by portland artist best available technology (astro:dynamics/working nights). contained within is an experiment in variations and reductions that rewards close listeners with a glimpse into the slow decay of self-contained sonic ecosystems. *go slumming* marks the first full length collaboration between the two artists and showcases the best of their respective styles.

- already supported by: gilbert / chateau flight, daniel bortz, sven väth, john digweed, m.a.n.d.y, ivan smagghe....
stroboscopic artefacts third release sees label owner lucy and underground trailblazer ercolino, inspired by novelist michael endes imagery, create two visions of a nihilistic future. the 12inch begins with the tale of fear incarnate >gmork<, the most powerful weapon for controlling society. the a-side is a portrait of this terrifying beast: slinking baselines come from its black heartbeat and white noise grows from its unearthly appetites. fat, squelching noises emerge as light, hope and ideas are quashed, ground up and eaten. the sound is viscose, violent and deep seething red. what emerges is a genius slice of dark, brooding techno crafted from the nectar of your darkest nightmare. the story gets even bleaker with b-side >so the nothing grows stronger<, a narrative of blips, bleeps and squeals. this extreme dub techno track is a mutinous call to arms, the sound of the insurgence. here beats forge together, fortified by a devastating charge, till the track crunches away into nothingness
remork is ready to save the dying dancefloors all over the world with his high-end supa-groovy deep techno sexy style. well should i stop bullshit-ing you ? remork is in fact a very well known french producer who is afraid to be a dancefloor master when he is (too) known for his loungy deep house smash hits. now take it or leave it but this is going to be huge ans this is only the first release
following on from his debut on mörk last year, jon fay delves even further into the depths of the nocturnal shades of dub techno. deep, throbbing percussion thumps under twitching, sparse electronics that evoke an alluring, alien soundscape. a soft, gentle heartbeat sinking into the soul. a celestial exploration into unknown territories.
core family member and crisis founder imre kiss returns to the lobster fray with a deep, riveting and emotive ep for sub-label mörk. infused with the emotional energy of his previous outings whilst plunging into a wormhole of london-centric sonic references, strangers is imre at his most potent and signals a striking return for the budapest producer.
with a trail of club-worn bodies left in his wake since his debut lobster theremin ep, closely followed by huge slabs for shall not fade and unknown to the unknown, trp joins the mörk clan with four tough and ethereal modern classics in his crunchy house-techno hybrid production style.
with a skillet of brooding, deep & melodic releases in his wake for the lobster main label, moomin’s closer imprint and an exceptionally beautiful self-released tape, royer returns to the lobster family with a clutch of super deep, dusty, planes-of-light-through-the-curtain house music that channel a nostalgic optimism into it’s brooding & humming elemental core.
from the fading melancholy memories of clqsse22 (simple version) and it’s more bubbling & swaggering sunday lit reffaaax counterpart, to the sunlight rays cutting and refracting from the facets of d’orr22. each track finds it’s own slot on the spectrum of deep, warm house music.
closer healyrslfw_lee nods to the more beat-oriented royer works, heavy sampling a playful short piano loop and cutting in spoken word segments.
nthng follows up his acclaimed debut ep *remember us* with the third entry into the mörk catalogue, *1996*. taking a less aquatic approach to production, but still shrouded in warm analogue fuzz and reverb, *1996* sees the young producer on much more reverent form, channeling a wider range of influences from german dub techno to staggered uk bass and giegling-esque minimal tropes.
lobster theremin launch their first sublabel proper, heralding a darker, murkier and deeper sound on their newly minted mörk imprint. retaining its mother labels passion for championing newcomers, mörk launches with a debut release from young netherlandic producer nthng. cultivating a sound that sits somewhere between prince of denmark and early claro intelecto with splashes of clone influence, nthngs stripped-back techno walks fuzzy, shrouded paths through nolstagic moments in time. at times almost drowning, his engulfing sound is a raw reminder of the power of subtlety and the use of meditative looping along with a rough-around-the-edges production style has led to an incredibly moving debut work.
thomas apokalypso marks his return to rett i fletta almost exactly 3 years after he started it with blusjketuta and apne slusa. and following a now famous winston churchill saying: this is not the end, not even the beginning of the end. this (apokalypso) isthe end of the beginning! and the rest is history. or simply great tekno not tekno. all available on full pupps techno not techno offshoot rett i fletta!
italian producer alfredo mazzilli presents us with logical strength, his second ep on weekend circuit. across 4 tracks he expresses his own unique take on the deepest strains of techno and it s outer reaches. ep opener logical strength is a throbbing piece of driving, menacing wormhole music with heavy arpeggiated sounds and rock solid, incessant drum-programming, leaving nothing standing in it s wake it is a firm statement of intent. nuvole sees the pace change slightly, adopting more of an eerie, borderline hallucinatory feel. the track unfolds beautifully with heavenly pads and synth swells draped across some tribally infused drums. on side 2 we have a stellar remix of nuvole from eminent swedish producer evigt mörker who travels a more subdued, sedate path with his interpretation. finishing off this 4 track excursion we are drawn into the beatless, introspective terrain of parhelion . a beautifully nuanced and subtle way to close things. washes of synth and atmosphere embrace us as we travel onwards, deeper into the night. alfredo mazzilli shows us once again his own individual and unique style on this ep, another essential chapter in the weekend circuit story.
(sean johnston & oyvind morken rmxs) theres a new kid in town! well, the kid behind it aint all that new, but the label is, so we will stick to our claim. after having been super quiet on the output front for a good few years now, oslo dj andoccasional full pupp producer marius circus is back with boom and a boing and a tschak, having decided to launch his own label.
swiss dj-producer honorée debuts on rekids with two intricate numbers featuring swedish producer evigt mörker. a key component in switzerland’s thriving electronic music scene, honorée is an accomplished dj and no stranger to playing alongside the upper echelons of house and techno. she now demonstrates her production abilities with an excellent inaugural outing on rekids. ‘pearls’ sees deep notes and stuttering percussion join echoing french vocals for a stripped-back exhibition of mesmerising house. feeling integrates sultry chords with syncopated drums whilst a whispering voice ebbs in and out of the mix. evigt mörker, known for appearances on semantica records and konstrukt, then steps up for a rhythmic and ethereal rendition of pearls.
30 releases strong, northern electronics calls to arms for an entire army-strong release. scandinavian swords ii collects new players next to the regular stable into a 3x12inch release, where the labels many facets gets showcased through the hands and minds of its artists.

this is easily one of the best in the series so far with the a-side featuring original tracks by advanced human, and mattias fridell, while the flip-side has an original from rraph, and a killer kwartz remix.
fresh cuts from up north! arkajo is one 1/2 of genius of time (who made his 1st appearance on clone royal oak with a remix for headless ghost). on his first proper release he comes with some pristine, club-minded sound sculpting. another beautiful aniara release with their special sound signature!
