um sechs neue tracks erweiterte deluxe-edition des aktuellen albums der britischen hip hop-künstlerin little simz und parallele erstveröffentlichung sämtlicher 22 tracks auf vinyl (samt eines zusätzlichen mp3-bonustracks). konnte little simz auf ihrem debüt -a curious tale of trials + persons- (2015) ihre mc-qualitäten eindrucksvoll dokumentieren, was zu zahlreichen auszeichnungen und gemeinsamen auftritten mit lauryn hill führte, übertrifft sie sich auf -stillness in wonderland selbst und überzeugt mit ihrem musikalischen talent auch als produzentin und instrumentalistin. neben zahlreichen features enthält das album auch den keytrack our conversations mit dem kanadischen jazz-hip hop-trio badbadnotgood.

auf notorious war der funk ein deutlich hörbarer einfluss, denn der chic-gitarrist nile rodgers produzierte das album und amerikanisierte den sound duran durans.

london’s 22a follow up their sell-out tenderlonious / al dobson jr split ep with nine more exclusives from henry wu and jeen bassa. originally limited to just 100 copies, this has become a hugely sought after 12”!
henry wu applies jazz infused hip-hop sensibilities to these synth-boogie, and deep house tracks. this was wu’s debut release and set the platform for further massive releases on eglo and rhythm section. on the flip jeen bassa goes in deep with percussive house infused afro-beats laden with jazzy hip hop rhythms. haling from a family of talented musicians (mo kolours and reginald omas mamode iv) he has since gone on to similarly large releases, including last years sterling time waves ep on 22a.
