opulence founder s jonny cruz & cali lanauze are back together for the labels third release and their first joint ep since 2012. this four track ep sees the pair give us each their own personal take on the groovy, dark and trippy sound that is opulence. on the a side we see cali lanauzes come around three. simplicity is the key here, all the elements combining beautifully for a deadly hypnotic and trippy head nodder. visionquests head boss ryan crosson steps in on remix duties delivering two killer versions of the original. the first being the galactic mix (vinyl only) and the second his more simple step mix.

andrea fioritos masterpiece la balada tzigana has finally taken shape and is ready for an immediate release for 2009. most definitely a release with haunting sense of musicality merging the mediterranean of the past and a timeless organic groove designed for dance floors worldwide. featuring the sultry spanish singer irina sierra bravo and accompanied by italian string composer leo gadaleta. the marriage between the two sounds is nothing but pure emotion, even drawing out the tears if i may. mike shannon delivers an ace of a remix stripping things down and emphasizing the groove. shannon truly puts the icing on the cake with this mix exploring the dynamics of the strings and the raw feeling of irinas vocals. truly a refreshing release of original dance floor inspired music.

lets remixer speak! >it was great to be asked to do this. originally, i wanted to do something really quirky and funky with the strange vocal in human bond, one of my favorite old tracks. i tried a few times but i couldnt really get a vibe going in the funk realm. so i listened to the original over and over again and then the lightbulb turned on. i realized that the original was a monster rave track, like what you would hear in a warehouse in detroit in the 90s. so i threw out my original idea and went crazy with a huge techno builder, something to hype a big rave just like the original. maybe this doesnt sound exactly like what i usually do but that was the fun of making it< claude vonstroke. aa: >bounce your body to the box was one of the first kms records that i owned and it was all about the mike >hitman< wilson mix and force field on the b side. the production on the original was huge. the 909 groove just pounded everything... when that came out there was nothing that came close to it. so it was an honor and a challenge to mix it myself. first came the futurist bounce mix... not released on vinyl, anmerkung, ... which is more of a cover version than a remix. i had a lot of fun with this one but it definitely has a signature that steps away from the original. so i had to take a run at it one more time to pay a proper homage to the original with the flashback mix< mike shannon...
