repress - welcome to the fourth chapter of the elaste series! in this compilation i am progressing a style i am inaugurating: vintage futurism. the best metaphor for this genre is charanjit singhs 1982 album ten ragas to a disco beat in which he created a sound which mirrors, but more importantly pre dates, the first acid house record by five years. it is no novelty record, but truly capturing the hypnotic potential of acid/house music. it became my key track for elaste volume 4
first release of the french young producer adrien van de velde aka a strange wedding, meta romance is a three track ep offering a reflexion on slow trance through different modern style of music. powerful beats are melted with hypnotic melodies, epic pads and tribal vocals to give a mystical yet contemporary vision of dance music.
next up on tel-aviv s parallax record is matushka s debut ep meta . meta is a varied minimalist techno ep showing matushka s range of production styles, with bits of braindance polyrhythms on top of industrial techno grooves, yet always understated and subtle in it s development.
sublunar, the record label founded by sciahri and dagdrom last year starts his 2018 with a brand new ep from the berlin based artist refracted, known for his releases on semantica, pole group, silent season and mind express. this 12” perfectly represent how his style has been crafted during these years, a balanced mixture between his incredible ear for detail, tunnelling trips and tougher beats.

we are pleased to present with * black hole* by meta.83 the work of a consequent defender of the art of analogue production. the soon available track * black hole* by the liebe*detail co-founder jinxed us from the very first moment and it was clear to us, that we d like to add a number of top-class remixes beside the original. for this we were able to win no one else then the tobias and borrowed identity (after his recent release on pastamusik * crack in the box ep*). the powerful acid bassline in the original version as well as in the gravity version creates from the very first moment a hypnotic undertow which seems to keep increasing throughout the track. its masterfully celebrated how to generate effective hits by carefully chosen elements and canny used effects. tobias also devote the focus in his interpretation on the acid aspect – but with more dynamics and with a higher beat frequency which will make every techno-djs heart beat faster. when carefully set tones are fading in and out this version gets a brilliant final touch. the remix of borrowed identity sounds in its structure more dirty and rough and though at the same time very fragile. a wonderful gem in pure culture drifting towards a black hole ..... perfect.
with a life spent record digging across the world and a near encyclopaedic knowledge of brazilian music, its rare for david mr bongo to come across an incredible record from that rich period that he doesnt already know, but that is what happened with this one. this one began with a tip off from floating points, followed by frenzied digging and researching, and the joyful receipt of a mysterious package from brazil! file under: holy grail brazilian orchestral psych soul.
this is a vinyl only release, limited to 1000 copies.
first rozzo release since mountain people 10. now supported all over the universe: pigs in space, silversurfer, the galaxies hitchhikers, han solo, captain kirk and flash gordon. planet earth? lets skip that garbage dump on a self-destruction binge.
oliver ho has to be applauded for his stead fast approach to his production and style. he is truly individual and unique in his work and his style is both original and captivating. here we have the 2nd release in his meta remix series. this release sees terra incognita reworked superbly. for the a side oli ho himself produces a fine harder remix with a very driving feel with crisp edits and razor production. on the flip surgeon gives it his sublime touch adding a slightly industrial yet very playable feel. fans of oli ho and surgeon will not be disapointed, this is a classy release

eye is back. metamujer marks the third installment on the knekelhuis label and we’re extremely happy to release this document of another chapter in laurène exposito’s life. recorded on various locations ranging from the swiss mountains to the chalky coasts of brittany, metamujer is an 8-track ode to salty love and closeness to nature, a tribute to a modest lifestyle à la henry david thoreau. far from being praise for self-sufficiency, this new lp is deeply influenced by laurène’s environment. we can hear korg ms-10 created synthetic waves (sanatorium) and birds (luscinia), but one can also catch her singing in italian, one of 3 languages spoken in switzerland. still minimalist and yet more aesthetically diverse, her new sounds are on the edge of ebm and synth pop, between classic minimal wave tunes and rustic ballads on acid.

drawing from early metalheadz influences, sounds and ideas, black barrel has crafted his own unique take on it all ranging from the intricate edits and soulful ksr vocals on ‘elevate with me’ to the unparalleled funk and gnarly prominence of ‘hear the sound’. it’s further proof that black barrel is more than adept when it comes to producing full spectrum drum and bass.
