a lurching broken beat and detuned technicolour chords drive the title track, an ode to the ‘nocturnal’ raves happening in his hometown as a kid. caraiba is a hypnotic percussive workout, switching and snapping around it’s four-four palette and underpinned with a swaggering bass line. loop-finding (4jo) rounds out the ep with scattered beats on top of a chopped and filtered sample of a rare-groove track, a fleeting but emotive sign-off for after hours listening.
