for our first anniversary as a label, we have prepared a compilation of tracks by our closest associates, collaborators and some randomly found favourites, who might also make future appearances on our imprint.

in its second venture into reissuing hidden gems of electronic music produced in eastern europe in the 20th century, little beat different issues focuses on the work of a czech composer, musician and producer, alexander goldscheider. this lp samples alexander goldscheider’s music produced for records, films, tv and even an art exhibition in the space of 25 years starting from 1975.

us producer d’marc cantu needs little introduction in the world of acid house and techno. since the late 2000s he’s been serving us quality musical output on labels like crème organization, m>o>s recordings, nation, altered moods or spectral sound, just to name a few. as well as his solo productions, he’s also one half of 2am/fm unit, alongside tadd mullinix (jtc / dabrye).
using a selection of hardware tools and analogue machines, his rugged sound draws on house, techno, acid, electro and hip hop and features crafty studio skills, knowing sampling and lovable raw aesthetics, defining his own sound that became known as jakbeat.
his latest offering for little beat different is, well, rather different in comparison to his usual club oriented output. it’s not as focused on straightforward dancefloor bangers, (although they are present here too), but features more experimental pieces, suitable for home listening purposes. totalling almost 38 minutes in length, this project has more of an album feel to it than a 12”.

after quietly dropping 2 quality 12”s on the limehouse based hothouse akute back in 2015 and 2016, dempa is back with a four track ep that remains faithful to his particular brand of deeply twisted beat-smithery. trusted into the hands of little beat different, there was no way these ruff and ready dance floor ready demos were going to slip away.
these four tracks delve deep into techno territory. built for the dancefloor and dancers who possess a somewhat acquired taste. both sides of the record are perfectly balanced. the first is quicker in tempo, with the second one focusing on the more psychedelic side of things. dempa cooks with the finest ingredients and naturally the results are full of the right flavours.

regular customer debuts his first full length ep on little beat different. groove laden house music with deep, emotional synths combine to do the required damage. chicago aficionado garrett david comes through with the remix duties too.

bona sforsa was a 16th century polish queen of italian origin. so much for a little history lesson. jump a few centuries forward and you’ll find bonasforsa in the studio on the 6th floor of a block of flats in east london. it’s the new moniker of italian-polish producer duo rico casazza and krzysztof kozber.

little beat different issues is a new series focused on reissuing music from eastern european regions previously unavailable on western markets. the first release is a compilation by project orm, the moniker of czech producer team petr and pavel orm. originally formed as a disco group in the late 1970’s, pioneers of electronic dance music in former czechoslovakia, petr and pavel quickly rose to fame as the country’s eminent pop producers. working with the then icons of the communist czechoslovak scene such as karel gott and josef laufer, they stand behind countless hits from that era. however, not many knew that the duo also released their own records, whose sound and artistic direction was different to their mainstream pop productions. this compilation cherry-picks the tracks from 4 different albums released between 1979 and 1984.
