(clear 10 inch vinyl) the second release to be pressed into totems slabs of 10-inch vinyl is from techno impresario luke slaters l.b. dub corp moniker. slater has been operating as a pioneer, with a full deck of aliases, throughout the genres many corners since the days when techno was a newborn phenomenon. the stripped back sounds of l.b. dub corps last releases on the imprint have resounded naturally within the psychotropic space carved out by stroboscopic artefacts.

john talabot and axel boman teamed up in 2017 for their r&s debut the night land where they got to flex their creative muscles over eight tracks of rich synth jams. the two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, but as pitchfork expressed in their glowing review their collective output doesn�t sound much like eithers work, it doesnt even necessarily reflect the thin, convex sliver where their interests overlap. instead, theyve hit upon something new. this new sound also proved to be a hit with the likes of mojo, phonica, xlr8r, self titled and dj mag all including it their annual best of lists. the artists have now handpicked four artists to create their own vision of the talaboman sound. superpitcher, samo dj and luke slater under his l.b. dub corp alias have all seriously delivered the goods.

(180 g vinyl incl. dl card) following its launch in 2006, slaters l.b. dub corp moniker has been responsible for refreshing house music on labels like mote-evolver and ostgut ton, with the latter hosting the pseudonyms debut album in 2013. side effects is the projects first body of work since then. i wrote the tracks over the last year between being on the road as p.a.s. and playing a few l.b. dub corp house sets, which naturally evolved into side effects almost accidentally luke slater

on the fourth unterton release the black dog present a new sound somewhere between house and techno that the black dog call darkhaus. the original version of * council flat emptiness* is an infectious, futuristic, disco-tinged version of a progressive dancefloor workout bathed in strings, mellow melancholia and heavy bass. this is preceeded by a straight to the point stripped down version that multiplies the hypnotic elements of the original. on the b-side a 9-minute-30-something remix from luke slaters l.b.dub corp project drives the original into classic slater territory where techno and groove marry and electrify each other.

saste004 is the fourth release in the stellate series: sounds gathered from the experimental frontiers and outer edgesof electronic music. for each stellate series release two tracks are created by four different producers. collectedtogether here are eight tracks from the periphery of electronic music.

spindizzy is a deftly crafted funked-up tech house track. constructed from a palette of harmonically aligned keys, bass and horns, its intensity comes from the measured way in which each element is given the space to breath its own energy into the mix. pacey but musical, subtle yet memorable, this is a standout record.
