after releases on john osbourne’s label tanstaafl bill youngman once again rips it off for killekill with our catalog number 019.from straight forward, hard hitting techno as in levitate he crosses over to the typical youngman style 2-step/techno hybrid as in magnetic. broken beats and playful me- oldies as in teardrop turns to solid are definitely not new to him, but the combi-nation of these two elements, as we find it here, definitely is. a beautiful masterpiece that works for the lonely hours as well as for the peaktime dancefloors.

killekill is proud to present eomac’s “spectre”, the debut album from dublin-based producer ian mcdon- nell, a rising star in the techno scene. spectre also marks the label’s first full-length album release. ian is better-known as half of the irish duo lakker and this album is certainly carved from the same cold slab of stone. his music has already gained huge support from the likes of tommy four seven, ellen allien, thom yorke and the one and only aphex twin himself. bleepy, slo-mo synth lines, dense textures, saturated bassdrums and hand-sliced vocals dunked in cavern- ous reverb – spectre is all about eomac doing what he does best, taking our concepts of club sound and contorting them into something that is truly his own. the melodies are slo-mo and lo-fi, the pads, exquisitely lush and textured. ian’s amazing sound-design (bordering on the intense in some places) and incredible attention to detail makes this an album where each listen reveals a deeper layer. spatters of noise, shards of broken beat and relentlessly pounding techno rhythms also make it a dancefloor-decimating weapon.

we are happy to welcome nyc based dj spider and berlin based franklin de costa in the killekill family. for catalog number 016 these two heavy weights of contemporary house music have joined forces to genetically modify their original sound and deliver 4 superdark and driving tools on the verge between techno and house – straight into the hands of the daring dj.

cassegrain & tin man are a deadly combination. old school acid lines programmed by one of the greatest masters in this field meet a super modern techno sound design by cassegrain, who have made themselves a name in the last years for producing some of the finest in dark and experimental techno. for the follow up to their debut release on killekill they have put together three tracks that are outstand- ing. high & low is a slowly swelling minimalistic acid epos of over 10 minutes length which proves the mas- tership of tin man in programming acid loops of eternal quality. 8 beats length only, but constantly evolving. no chance for boredom. the b-side starts with sex kit, a dark acid stomper with a chirping percussion which is well suitable for the peaktime dancefloor, followed by sand maze, a sublte minimalistic ambient acid piece, that winds its way into total dissolution. we are quite sure that this is the way acid should sound in 2013.

killekill 014 is being delivered by alex cortex. on the a-side hyperfocus combines a heavily distorted kickdrum with uplifting trance chords and a breakbeat feeling as if this was the most normal thing in the world. the result is an outstanding anthem that can be used on all floors, whether they are techno, house or breakbeat.by force of attrition is a typical alex cortex-track, driving and static at the same time, slowly moving, hypnotic and deep. the b-side features a remix of hyperfocus by skudge. the swedish duo recently released an ep of alex cortex on their label skudge presents and in return remix this track here for killekill. they extract the breakbeat sounds of the original and use them for a warm minimalistic house tool driven by a smacky wooden snare.

ltd red coloured vinyl edition... for this release, we have a very special cooperation to show off with: cassegrain & tin man ! cassegrain are greek-british producer alex tsiridis and berlin/vienna based composer and producer hüseyin evirgen. with a well developped sensitiveness the duo designs futuristic and dark techno sound- scapes with a strong experimental touch. tin man is another outstanding artist and the second half of this collaboration. with his releases on cheap records, global a and the sähkö-sub label keys of life he proved well, how easily he can switch between strong classic acid and abstract, postmodern songwriting. the tracks that resulted from this very special collaboration, are exactly what you might expect: an ideal and unique combination of modern dark techno as it comes from labels such as prologue or stroboscopic artefacts and classic acid. some of them aim directly at the dancefloor, some come along rather dreamy and spaced out. perfect for killekill.

bill youngman has become one of the most important parts of the killekill family. his new record displays his wide range of interests: from dark techno in shadent he crosses over to drone monster alert in wespe to his very own style of melodic electro in centrumcircuit. about bill youngman: scandinavia, tresor, null etc., bill has from day one been producing a lot of excellent other stuff. for exam- ple, he released one album of the finest electronica on depth charge’s dc recordings under the alias audible, several great eps of electro on serotonin and recently remixed jamie lidell in a rather techy dubstep style for warp. bill doesnt follow trends and dislikes being categorized into one stale genre and so perfectly fits into the killekill master plan. expect several eps from him on killekill in the future. bill will furthermore attempt to push the threshold of modern electronic music production.

spider silk on the a side is a funky stepper of extreme darkness. its epic feel shall make it a hit on all techno, idm and dubstep dancefloors. 8 blip is a short straight tech stumbler with a kick drum as deep it will only be audible on proper soundsys- tems – which is where we want to hear those tracks anyway. litiv is a piece of rare beauty – simply amazing. lakker are a fascinating duo from dublin who have released on several labels and recently got dj support from none other than aphex twin.

killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

hh3 is a techno masterpiece by top notch producer bill youngman. its futuristic and cold. massive dark drones and ambience build up its very unique atmosphere. for their remix of hh3, techno shooting stars sandwell district added some industrial flavor. imagine a steel worm drilling its way into the dancers souls and you almost got it. the last track of the ep entitled trilogy, shows another totally different side of bill: electronica thatís been made to tear your heart apart. wicked!

killekill002 comes from alex cortex solo. the a side track >tackle” is an old school minimalistic loop techno track with a weird bleepy melody inside. made for the late hours on big pas. b1 track >beach bass< is the hit of this record: a deep house number with a bassline that hits your heart immediately and makes you smile and want to dance. a house hit as it should be! b2 >boing boing< is an uncommon, strange electro track that rounds up this ep and shows the wide range of styles that can be expected from this label. alex cortex has been releasing electronic music of all kinds since 1996 on labels like source records, kanzleramt, klang elektronik, pomelo, platzhirsch and many more.
