die kraftvolle soundwelt des ersten songs ist eine klare aussage. elektronische musik muss nicht dunkel und zwischen vier wänden ohne tageslicht versteckt sein. rey & kjavik veröffentlicht seinen ersten longplayer namens -rkadash- auf katermukke und ist vielseitig und unerwartet erfrischend. bekannt für seine kraftvollen dj sets zeigt der frankfurter produzent mit diesem release einige neue fähigkeiten. der track -ulima- zeichnet sich durch ethnische reime, einem hypnotischen gesang und interessanten synth akkorden aus. -saraswati- ist der track zum meditieren während getanzt wird- ein bewegter rhythmus, der jede menge raum für körperbewegung bietet. eine neue version von -baba city- bringt orientalische rhythmen in den vordergrund. inspiriert von seinen reisen zum burning man und anderen berühmten festivals rund um den globus, ist dieser longplayer eine zusammenfassung von impressionen und klängen auf straßen, hotels, dunklen flughafen-lounges und sonnigen stränden. der main track -rkadash- bringt mit einer groovigen basslinie und dem typischen rey & kjavik sound die sache auf den punkt. -escape- ist gekennzeichnet durch orientalische grooves und housigen passagen gekennzeichnet gefolgt durch den track -playa sunset-. ein typischer katermukke-bounce wird dann mit -akya- eingeleitet- ein track der startbereit ist, um die bühnen der festival-saison zu rocken. zu guter letzt wird es zeit sich zurückzulehnen und -hare sharanam- beim sonnenuntergang-egal, wo auf erden- zu geniessen. ab juli bei katermukke zu bekommen.

jetzt auch als 7 inch vinyl erhältlich! wolke 4 ist das erste resultat einer internetbekanntschaft, die großes verspricht. sie kennen sich nicht, der berliner singer/songwriter philipp dittberner und elektro-musiker marv aus hannover. aber sie haben sich oft genug gegenseitig angeklickt, um einen gemeinsamen musikalischen versuch zu starten. was zunächst als remix angedacht war, entwickelt sich schon bald zu etwas ganz eigenständigem. philipp nimmt gitarrenspuren auf, marv legt beats darunter, philipp schreibt den text und singt die ersten strophen ein. bei jedem hin- und herschicken reift der song weiter, bis es schließlich vollbracht ist, noch bevor sich die beiden musiker zum ersten mal persönlich treffen. -wolke 4- ist ein amüsant nüchternes liebeslied, das elektronische elemente, western, pop und singer-songwriter gelungen miteinander verbindet und sich durch seine heitere gelassenheit in kopf und körper festsetzt. und im internet geht es dann auch weiter...

straight from cologne, we proudly debut with our first release on technology gap 001, with some deep as its gets straight up house music acompaning your personal summer madness. anyone wondering what oliver kochs breitbandkater projects all about need only turn to the eps opening cut, >warm and wet<, wherein the cologne-based producer proclaims, >i want the best for you / so everything i do / is house music.< yep, technology gap 001 is house music all right, and a particularly fine sampling of it too. the aforementioned >warm and wet< immediately declares itself an ep high point the moment its thumping bass pulse kicks in. sleekly designed, the cut begins with a tight minimal swing that swells into a jacking house fireball while serving up six minutes of chunky chords and cracking snares. the second track, >wonder why<, tips the balance in a slightly more soulful deep house direction when monojoe spreads an exuberant vocal ove r breitbandkaters lush backing. warm chords and a sweetly grooving pulse provide a soft cushion for some old-school cymbal patterns and a radiant synth hook in the smooth stormer. adopting a slightly more atmospheric approach, with house group of the hour, morning factory winds up the ep with a trippy remix of >warm and wet< which finds kochs vocal drifting through the slow-building mix in a semi-entranced daze. lovers of classy deep house should no doubt find much to admire about breitbankaters three-tracker. go hunt, its good for you
