nicz records puts out its 5th release. debut ep from duo ontheground - straight from berlin, functional heavy beats, bearing roots in early 90’s techno.

the groove brothers, aka jef k and rhythm&soul, keep things moving with the second release on their fledgling label, on a mission records. it’s been seven months since the label’s debut, demonstrating the duo’s considered approach to their outlet, which has been set up to capture the true spirit of house music, basing its ideals on some of the industry’s most respected labels and keeping that timeless, classic ethos alive. this second release unites the label owners with a couple of newcomers to the scene. retaining the sultry outlook of the first release the groove brothers inject jazzy notes and smooth funky rhythms into their music, while mr ks and kub follow in a similar vein with their well-crafted contributions. ks expanding on the jazz theme, while kub takes a more sensual pathway. das ikonische belgische dj-duo 2manydjs, bestehend aus den brüder stephen und david dewaele, feiert das 20-jährige jubiläum ihres albums as heard on radio soulwax pt. 2 mit einer besonderen re-issue. 2002 erschien es ursprünglich nach einer reihe von radioshows der beiden brüder, damals vor allem bekannt als die köpfe hinter der electronic/indie-rock band soulwax. die re-issue erscheint mit dem foto von richard young auf dem cover, das ursprünglich als cover vorgesehen, aber nach rechtsstreitigkeiten mit tipp-ex verfremdet wurde.
