zimmermann alias jens zimmermann aka tyrell corp. aka dj gargamel is constantly changing yet always the same: a damn good producer. from his early days when he whipped up tracks by culture beats and out of the ordinary into dancey frenzy with well-known german producer torsten fenslau, to his drum n bass-fuelled moments of technical innovation, jens has never been one to stand still. constantly reinventing hilmself, he always managed to keep things ticking, making him one of the most sought-after producers in the late eighties and throughout the nineties. now, in 2007, after years of noise research and sound sculpting, he is re-emerging as zimmermann which stands for >new german minimal sound<. after three much-celebrated releases, aptly called zimmermann #1, #2 and #3 on room recordings, which were severely hyped up by germany s house fraternity, and releases and remixes on boxersport, k2,and hifreaks as well as on harthouse mannheim, the future is looking bright for jens
