james barnsley s imprint has reached considerable momentum so far with releases from himself, scan mode, dj honesty and dj w!ld, not to mention remixes from daze maxim, laura jones and burnski to name a few. in its fifth release vessel sees the leeds based label boss pair up with irishman gavin herlihy, known for releasing on leftroom and apparel music, under their newly launched trackers moniker. hexagon paves the way forward with shuffling percussion, arpeggiated synths and mesmerising effects, before memory game delivers crunchy snares and dubby echoes. unison wax and beste modus founder diego krause then takes his hand to hexagon , creating a rhythmic rendition built on intricate drums and hypnotising atmospherics, until french duo s.m.a.l.l & paco arrive under their politics of dancing pseudonym to convert memory game into a bass fuelled dancefloor workout.

nonplus has been pushing the envelope for forward thinking music since its inception in 2009 and the next ep confirms this. there is little known about hexagon son but the raw and intricate sound of the spiral ep suggests this is no newcomer. from the hypnotic swirls of spiral17, the raw robot funk of opia to the deconstructed tape driven re-imaging of blipworx. the spiral ep covers all corners of the expansive world of techno.

a new four track ep by hexagon aka conforce on his own imprint. doing what he does best. making deep imaginary techno music with otherworldly authentic atmospheres without any concessions. the title track sucks you into desolate interstellar territories paying hommage to 606 rhythms with emotive strings on top that determine the total atmosphere of this killer advanced electro cut. human meets machine in it s purest form. pitch black leans on accurate programmed heavy broken percussive patterns and is the most functional track of the ep. functional but it s haunting atmosphere lifts this to a different dimension. continuum dives deeper into sonic territory with a mysterious stealth missional vibe caused by it s unpredictable sparkling crispy effects and mysterious pads. systematic repetition leans on pulsating modular bleeps and dubby basses and is the most techno orientated cut of the whole ep. it wouldn t be a conforce record if there weren t any strings and pads attached to it.
