grebenstein is a producer, dj and visual artist living in kassel, germany. after playing in several bands as a drummer and guitarist he made his solo-debut with a 4-track ep on the regis helmed label downwards records in november 2014. the gloss 4 track ep for horo comes after his downwards records follow up strong, proud, stupid, & superior with seefried was released in october 2016. title track gloss centres on percussive crescendos and pensive guitar layers, while self and its version stretch this effect out into a grinding, slow motion introspection. loss closes the ep with serrated drum machine blasts punctuating feedback contortions. the tension throughout the ep is palpable, with the shaping of the tension providing the substance of his signature style. non club tracks for open minded clubs.

london based experimental publisher split music has rapidly gained a unique reputation for its expertise in placing music in audiovisual projects, from hollywood movie trailers like blade runner 2049, the dark tower & mother to brand films for globally recognised designers adidas, dior & puma. this reputation was affirmed this year upon winning the prestigious golden trailer award in l.a. (for the use of these hidden hands music in the brutal raw worldwide trailer). now, from their headquarters at londons live music epicentre village underground, they have launched their latest project: the research label. this new label will showcase the artists they represent by challenging them to push the boundaries of their production process to new levels.

based in chicago, stave is the solo project of jonathan krohn. he also collaborates with karl meier under the name talker. jonathan, karl and ken meier also run the label standards & practices.

nemorous records is rooted in a techno tradition, albeit eager to grow in all different kind of directions, thus touching genres as diverse as industrial, experimental or even metal. the label is run by veteran dj (and newcoming producer) anja zaube and markus grotmann, who recently started to dj under the dim_light moniker. they both share a powerful vision of the label s overall sonic and visual aesthetic. nemorous records output will be on analog media (vinyl, tape) first and foremost, with digital availability maybe later. the main focus will be on new or lesser known artists in whom both strongly believe, on vinyl format complemented by remixes from more established artists. the first issue is by anja zaube, backed with a remix by jan grebenstein.
