aptly titled the noughties, the latest 12 inch from beats in space records features three tracks recorded between 2005 and 2009 courtesy of tokyos humbly dynamic gonno. a dynamic producer who is clearly not afraid to nest until crucial hatch time, gonno flies the coop with a wingspan throwing psychedelic colour at a sunburst sky. blending a spectrum of musical influences and personal touch points about the people (and animals) he has encountered and the implicit joy / sorrow in that exchange, gonnos productions blur the lines between art and life experience.

after his appearance on born free records, rollerboys recordings, and rett i fletta, johannes wilkstrom aka yourhighness contributes to cocktail d amore music with stratofortress. the berlin based imprint gathered techno guru rrose, born free records owner samo dj, and international japanese wave representative gonno, to offer an ep with a wide range of interpretations of the title track. the original mix is an acid based, industrial influenced techno banger. highly energetic, for sweaty late-night dance floors. on the same side samo dj transforms the techno blaster into a funky ebm ballad, characterized by a deep male voice and a breakbeat groove. rrose is on remix duty on the b-side. stratofortress suddenly turns into a dubby, everlasting build up, that eventually implodes in the depth of a black hole. closing the ep gonno offers a slow-mo rework. deep and very cinematic, this remix will please every cosmic hole connaisseur.

the second release from merkur aka japasese embassy is coming. we can expect an exciting and unexpected 3 tracker which does not fit in any conventional category. gonno, tokyo based producer and dj, has graped everyones attetion with his outstanding “i don’t need competition (inkl. donnacho costello mix)” on beyond records in late winter 2008. for merkur he has designed the acid-revival track “desolation 303?,,. this track is build on a tricky chicago styled rhythm and an acid sequence which first comes slowly, later on developing an beautiful drive suitable on every dancefloor. berlin based japanese artist / label owner shingo suwa painted the tune “silver blue” with a lot of love for chords and melodic spins. maybe you can call it housemusic knocked down to a minimal attitude. “two of us” plays with warm synths on a solid base, slightly referring to the detroit deep house culture and impressing with an advanced but nevertheless solid groove
