wonder why is the highlight from llorca s greatly overlooked the garden album on membran records. with its curtis mayfield inspired vocals, live strings and 70 s guitars, it has all the ingredients of a classic song. who better to ask as a remixer than hot toddy from crazy p. he raised the tempo and energy and really made it his own. on the b-side, 2 edits of the original track from fred everything, using only the original stems, working the effects and sonics as well as extending the track both in original and instrumental forms.
LONG WAY HOME (ANDRE LODEMANN & FABIAN DIKOF, FRED, IAN POOLEY, LAUER AKAI MIXES)
12" Vinyl UK20.11.18
taken from his critically acclaimed new lp long way home, lazy days s main man invites three a-list producers to revisit some of the highlights from the album. andre lodemann & fabian dikof give by day feat. sio a techier and deeper mood. perfect for those late hours of the night. ian pooley brings his classic sound to silverlight featuring jinadu while lauer explores the balearic side of wherever you go. there s also an additional reversion of by day by fred, taking the track in completely different world than his broken beat original.
prolific and long-serving canadian producer fred everything is never one to rest on his laurels, but it s been no less than 10 years since he last released an album (the classic lost together on om records). now he finally returns to the long player format on his own lazy days label with the appropriately titled long way home, a widescreen exploration of his sound via all manner of styles. there s gorgeous broken beat and neo soul, slow-strutting electronic disco and modern boogie, and that s just the a side of this expansive 12inch track album. warm, immaculately produced and unafraid of embracing pop as much as underground styles, it s a masterful return from mr. everything.
adding yet another montreal artist to the lazy days roster. this time, we welcome bowly aka ojpb. a respected name in the montreal dj scene, hes also known for his releases on parage music and more recently on tensnake s great true romance label.
2 years ago, we celebrated our 10 years with 5 anniversary eps entitled 10 by ten, where we asked 10 of our favorite artists to write an exclusive track for the occasion. two of the stand out tracks were martin iveson - aka atjazz - leave me here as well as art of tones, koniokola, which we thought deserved a second life. freerange and delusions of grandeur boss, jimpster, blesses us with his deep yet driving rendition of leave me here, while fred everything chooses to update koniokola with a more dance floor approach and a strip down dub. we also included the original of leave me here which was never available on vinyl.
ever reliable canadian producer fred everything makes his first appearance of 2017 with a selection of choice remixes of house classics for the lazy days label. on the a-side he s taking to crazy p s -like a fool- a vocal and dub version and laying down a slick, bubbling groover that fits perfectly with the original s warm, disco-infused elements. on the flip, he takes on roach motel s -the night- and makes it into a shimmering nocturnal cut peppered with impeccable synth lines and a sleazy vocal turn. by way of variety the final track sees fred create a laid back balearic, auto-tuned version of franky selector s -wind swept dune-.
atjazz record company is pleased to welcome back prolific artist and dapper gent fred everything. from canada to the uk, this skillful and ever-present producer brings over 20 years of talent and experience to bear on this exciting new release.
fans of deep house will need little introduction to fred everything and shur-i-kan, two producers synonomous with the true roots of the genre. as you would expect the resulting collaboration is forward thinking deep house with depth and musicality in abundance. lead track common ground is all about the lead line, a delicate arppegiated melody paired with a chicago-esq bassline. there is also dub working the bassline to full effect. ep closer so leena neatly walks the line beween deep house and melodic techno.
why stop when youve got a good thing going? that was our reasoning, at least, behind gp286v, a special vinyl release inspired by the crazy goodness that was roach motels, the night ep. released alongside a handful of great remixes by the likes of tuff city kids, fred everything and felix da housecat, this vinyl edition of the night has put their old-school-leaning 7 minutes of popping rhythm heaven on wax for all the black gold enthusiasts to enjoy.
the atmospheric deep house builder brothers & sisters comes in two different versions and is everything we could wish for, deep, punchy and masterfully produced house music, sounding right at home on local talk. the pm atlantic version will do the work for the early sets and am pacific is the perfect end of the nighter. finishing off is legacy, a track where groove and dedication is the keywords, a guaranteed weapon in any djs bag in the coming months. all in all, three tracks of the kind of nuanced deep house weve come to expect from the brilliant fred everything
atjazz & fred everything are back together again. their last collaboration dates 2010 on lazy days but the pair have been friends since the late 90s and have collaborated and remixed each other countless times. the beast and the ghost explores the deeper, dubber side of their production. the project was started in derby and finished in san francisco, while atjazz worked on his inside dub from home. this will be featured on the upcoming lazy dubs compilation, out in january.

nice price deal !!! bran van 300 is a musical circus orchestrated by james di salvio. known for there 1998 hit >drinking in la<, this unconventional collective is based out of montreal but also la, and even mexico. this is taken from their most recent album >the garden<, and features the vocals of freddie james, a child star of the disco days in montreal famous for his 1979 hit >everybody, get up & boogie<. fast forward 30 years and we have this amazing collaboration between bran van and freddie that we just had to get our hands on!
with its intriguing melodies, strings and piano orchestration, >silk city< has got modern classic written all over it. nathalie is a jazz singer and the tone of her voice reminds of telepopmusiks >love can damage your health<. fred everything once again steps up to the remixes with a straight forward modern house production and a dub that brings back early influences of mauritzio and mood 2 swing. hope you enjoy the release as much as we do.
earlier this year they got together at martins studio in derby to create this classic deep house number. the parts were then taken to their respective studios to create their own versions. freds mix has a more straight forward vibe to it while martin takes things to the deep end, adding dub elements to the mix.
from two of the most recognisable names in the world of deep house, -back together- marks the long friendship and musical collaboration between martin iveson and frédéric blais. having met through the diy circles in the late 90s in nottingham, martin & fred have remain best friends since. martin collaborated on freds first album, -under the sun- (released on 20:20 vision in 2000) on the tracks -derby- and -let you down-. his recent remix of freds track -mercyless- on om became a staple with deep house djs worldwide. fred has remixed tracks for atjazzs now defunct label mantis (kimbu kimra-s -raise the dead- and atjazz-s -its complete-) as well as a recent remix for atjazz feat. clyde -i forgot you-
two deep house all stars join forces once again to create 2 more instant classics. a must for any househead ! this is what i remember about house music (mark farina) written and produced by fred everything and jt donaldson. spoken word by aima the dreamer. recorded at moulton studios, san francisco.

dusty moves' sees the boys combining techy beats with a dubby bassline and some subtly filtered synth lines. on the flip, 'sometimes i feel' is aimed more at the late night crowds, with deep chords, warm bass, jazzy horns. 'jays acid dub' completes this solid trio with subtle dubs and acid tweaks
"fred everything giving the house makeover to outkast's ""spottieottiedopalicious"" track. his ""back in da day mix"" keeps andre 3000's vocal, and backs it with a pulsing bassline, stabbing synth chords, and giving the whole track an old skool acid house feel. on the flip, fred's ""club rub"" is a funkier take"
"another dream-time collaboration for all the deep house fanatics! canada's finest fred everything teams up chicago legend roy davis jr. on this memorable three-tracker. a certain level of soulful expression can be reached only when stars align correctly up there as well as down here. once in a while a new track comes along that fools you into thinking you are listening to some lost re-discovery from the catacombs of american soul. the first release on timmion records new stylart imprint should leave a lasting mark on all friends of quality soul balladry. -love can last forever- by the enigmatic fred is the tune that will turn your heart to the love side whether you hear it at the end of a heavy club night, gripping on the wood grain wheel, or leaning on the bars of the penitentiary. who is fred then, you might ask. suffice to say he is a complicated man, who possesses a buttery falsetto and the rare power to turn banal testimonies of heartache and love into cathartic magic. this basically means he has soul, and we don t state this lightly here at timmion. after his first release, there are a few other heaters lined up, so be prepared for fred, his star is rising.
